That is why I want to first try local hosting on my fedora laptop. And then migrate to web hosting of my website. I don't want to set up using non Linux applications. Windows I don't want too.
I suggest you try Ubuntu. The server-guide at https://help.ubuntu.com/10.10/serverguide/C/serverguide.pdf will help you with specifics about Apache, etc. It's very comprehensive, and easy to follow.
