hi, thanks for the replies.
the categories module is generating a vocabulary titled 'section'
so /section/radio lists all the nodes tagged with that taxonomy term.
however /section just returns the header and footer, no blocks, and the number '2'
this is very strange bc /section/radio or /section/blog return those taxonomy item tagged nodes no problem. but when i put the url alias in for /radio to return /section/radio, it doesn't work.
this is important bc we switched to drupal recently and there are a lot of links out there to /radio
thanks for help

Looks to me like an issue with the module providing the /section. Perhaps it's not using the arg() function but tries to read the query string to fetch what comes after "section/"? If Will could tell us what module is providing the "section/" menu item, it would certainly help :)

Will,
I've been staring at this email for a while in My inbox thinking about what it could be. What is producing the content of section/radio? Is it a simple page, or a panel or something else? It might help to know what's producting this URL that doesn't seem to be behaving well with the url asias concept.
I hate unsolved mysteries....

hi all, i am still having problems with this.
i have a url alias set as
Existing system path: section/radio Alternative path: radio
(the menu appends the http://www.freedom-center.org to the beginning).
however, when i go to section/radio i am fine, but /radio gets me to some kind of dead page with the number 2 and no blocks or other theming.
any help appreciated!
