tx for the tip. there doesnt appear to be any "frontpage.module" or anything that looks like it.
It's called 'Front Page'. That's what it's called.
Go to the modules page and scroll down to the one called 'Front Page'.
You will be able to spot it, because it looks like: 'Front Page'.
