On the contrary, I believe this is the goal we are
shooting for - developers aren't finding the default
Drupal theme to be adequate and wish for something
that:

1) looks good out of the box
2) is relatively simple and easy to modify

NOTE: bluemarine didn't satisfy either of those, so
right now it's about replacing it with something
(anything!) better.
