I think that while the document will be middle-of-the-road it should
lean more towards new users vs. developers.

As for coordination I would be happy to coordinate efforts, but I am not
a master word smith (though I don't see this document being overly verbose).

As a starting point lets look at the existing pamphlet and analyze and
deconstruct it. Let's build on its strengths and improve its
weaknesses. The existing document is very good, but it not yet GREAT.

My own thoughts:

While informative, it is feature heavy with less emphasis on what
benefits those features provide to potential users.

I've mentioned in another post that "Stable, Supported, Here to Stay"
are all the same way of saying Reliable. What is the benefit of that?

e.g. for corporate users: IT resource aren't wasted babysitting the site
OR if a problem should arise answers are quick and easy to find OR You
can be secure in knowing that the product will be here tomorrow and any
investments in IT resources will not be wasted. etc. etc. etc.

OR for new users (like say a blogger): you can do it yourself - but if
you stumble there is a huge safety net to catch you etc.

Regarding Standards Compliance: Benefits: An out of the box install
will work on virtually all platforms. Your site will look equally good
in all browsers. Your site will be accessible - you will never shut
anybody out because of their disability or the technology they use. You
will maximize your potential audience. etc etc etc.

Regarding Taxonomy: Benefits: Improved search engine ranking.
Improved ability for visitors to navigate your site. Better
organization of your site content. etc etc etc.

Finally it would be nice to emphasize the 'community' aspect of Drupal
and try to sell people on a sense of belonging - and on their ability to
build their own communities.
