[drupal-support] Again on the "remember me" option

I'm still struggling with this problem without being able to solve it, so here I'll write more details and maybe someone will be able to help me figure out why the feature isn't working correctly and if it's a problem of my configuration or a bug in Drupal. I use a relatively unmodified version of Drupal 4.5.2 The only "quirk" is that the engine is in a /drupal/ subdirectory. So the real address is: http://www.cesspit.net/drupal/ To redirect there I have an .htaccess directly into http://www.cesspit.net/ which just contain a line: DirectoryIndex drupal/index.php This redirects to the subdir whenever the basic address is accessed. and it seems to work. I cannot install drupal in the main directory because the http://www.cesspit.net/admin/ shortcut is used by the provider to access the admin pages of the website, so it prevents drupal to work in the case I install it there. The other technical details are that I use PHP 4.3.8 and Apache 2.0.50 The .htaccess file in have on the /drupal subdirectory is exactly the one in default package. The only difference is that I followed the instructions, replacing <IfModule mod_php4.c> With: <IfModule sapi_apache2.c> This considering that I run the site on Apache 2. But this didn't produce any effect. The sessions weren't saved and every time I closed the browser I had to log in my site again. To solve this problem I had to directly edit the php.ini file in /etc/ So I searched for the session.cookie_lifetime and set it to 2000000 instead of 0 (the previous value). >From my attempts I realized that my site simply ignores what's written in the drupal's .htaccess. I tried to set the value in php.ini to 8000000 (which should correspond to four months) and the one in the .htaccess to 6000000 (which should be three months). And looking directly at the cookie stored in my browser I saw it always behave as the php.ini value, no matter what value I put in the .htaccess file. Anyway, setting the php.ini file solved the problem of the cookie. I use Firefox 1.0 as browser and I can see that there's a cookie expiring in May, about three months from now and exactly following the value in the php.ini. Now the session is somewhat saved. I can shut down the browser, reopen it and I'm still logged in. But if I don't go back within an hour or so I have to relog *again*. So the cookie basically works for some time but then vanishes in the void. Absolutely ignoring the fact that it should last at least THREE MONTHS. So, please, is someone able to figure out what is happening? -HRose / Abalieno

[drupal-support] menu block and viewing nodes

Couldnt find anything on this ... I'm using multiple vocabularies with a menu associated to each one. I want to only show one menu block at a time. So I defined the menu blocks path with the appropriate taxonomy/terms, i.e., <term/(1|2|4|86|107)>. Just one problem, the menu block goes away when a node is viewed. This makes sense because the URL is for a node and not a term. Really would like to have the menu block available when viewing a node that is in the appropriate term. Any other methods available? [drupal-support] Changing the default English Translation (locale)

Not actually working on multi-lingual sites (at this point), however... What I want is my 'en' 'translation' to be different from the default. I have on one site used the localization settings to add a new 'language' (which I called en-GB), however the sole purpose was to just change the default behavior. I didn't want to provide multiple 'translations'. It does work of course, just me being a fussy perfectionist. How are other people achieving the same thing? Cheers, Ross.

It seems gone in the last versions. I'd like to be able to set the site so that the session expires as the browser closes for the users choosing so and log them in automatically without an expiration date for those choosing so as well. This is possible or not in the current version? Why such important and intuitive feature has been removed? -HRose / Abalieno

[drupal-support] Listhandler.module + Mailman + Postfix question

I've successfully installed mailman, mailhander.module, and the listhandler.module on my Debian Woody box running Postfix. Everything works, except that mailman intercepts all the incoming mail to the list and so the mail never gets to the mbox file. Therefore, the mailhandler.module never gets a chance to post the incoming mail to the forum. How do I configure mailhandler and/or postfix to send the e-mail to the mailbox I have listed in the mailhandler settings page? Thanks.

Hey Group, I'm using apache 2.0.52, PHP 4.3.10_2,1 ( freebsd ), and drupal 4.5.1 drupal is installed to a virtual host directory ( /usr/local/ncgun ) and configured as such in httpd.conf In httpd.conf I have the directory set up as such: <Directory "/usr/local/ncgun2/"> Options All AllowOverride Options Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> With NO .htaccess file, everything works, but looking at the file, I see thats a security issue. Hi, I see this error sometimes in the logs. Anonymous users generate this error when going to /comment/reply (without a node number). Is this a problem (e.g. normal users somewhere following a erroneous link) or is this malicious scripts trying to 'hack' drupal? [drupal-support] include external pages ... iframe

I would like to include external pages on my site. As a reference, Mambo CMS offers this feature, I believe they call it wrappers, I think it uses iframe. Specifically what I'm trying to do ... this is a youth soccer site, an outside source will provide team schedules and results, I would like to integrate those external pages. Any ideas on the correct way to do this with Drupal. Thanks for the help !!! Todd

Hi all, I am a new user of Drupal and set it up on our church site: www.lambertikerk.nl (Zelhem, The Netherlands). I really like it, but I've got one question so far: - Is it possible to view child categories on the page of a category? E.g. when I have a taxonomy like: Foo (4) ----foobar (2) ----fooquux (2) and there are no postings in Foo itself, but in foobar and fooquux, the page "Foo" just says "There are no items in this category.". I like it to say "There are on items in this category but we have 2 subcategories: foobar and fooquux," and display a short summary of both.
