How to create a multistep CCK form?

I'm trying to build a multistep form (a.k.a. "wizard"). The excellent guide of Jeff Eaton <http://drupal.org/node/101707> (http://drupal.org/node/101707) about how to do such a form, relates only to a user-supplied form (you need to write a special module for it). I wonder if there's a way to do the same thing with a CCK form. Here are the issues I ran into so far: There are two things that need to be done: 1. Setting the current step index (1,2,3.../first,second,last etc.) 2. Determining which step we're at, to decide which form fields to present, or which action to perform, upon submitting. To set the current step index, Eaton uses the $form_values array which is automaticaly added to a multistep form. He's doing so in the form building function (/function my_form/), with the aid of $form_values. This way he assures the step won't be increased until proper validation. If I want to do the same thing on an existing form, I'd have to use hook_form_alter. The thing is $form_values is not available to hook_node_alter... Hook_submit is used by Eaton to check on which step we are currently at, and act upon it. The equivalent in the case of altering a form, would be to use hook_nodeapi, during the submit operation. But then again - I think I can't really hold the process, only add things to it. So basicaly I'm asking: *Is there a different way to modify a CCK, so it will become a multistep form?* Zohar

Is there any sort of map/overview/tree in Drupal?

I'm trying Drupal for a second time (I'm a glutton for punishment!) and I've installed Drupal 5.1. I can understand the basics and I can create content etc. but what I lack is a way to see the structure of the web site I'm creating. Is there anywhere in Drupal where I can see a list of pages that I have created, preferably with some sort of indication of the connections between them? -- Chris Green (chris(a)halon.org.uk)

Looking for a module to Register for an event?

Hi All I'm looking for the best solution in Drupal 5 for members to register for an event. Ex: A charity motorcycle ride on "this date" Something where I am able to add extra fields too along with multiple events to register for. Any suggestions greatly appreciated Tim

A way to get better editing of content

After my thread a while ago about the weakness of editing content in Drupal (not just Drupal, most CMS have the same problem IMHO) I did some thinking. I already use a Firefox extension called Mozex, among other things this allows you to use a local (and powerful/familiar) editor to edit a textarea. In general I use it with Wikis when I want to do some serious editing - start editing, get a textarea and hit CTRL/E and the textarea appears in my favourite editor (vile, a vi clone) on my local system. It gives me two big advantages, much faster editing because I'm editing a local file on my system rather than a textarea across an HTTP connection and a familiar editor. So I wondered if I could do the same with the content editor in Drupal, and the answer is yes! :-) If I set it up correctly I can pop up (for example) kompozer (the unofficial update of nvu) to edit my content in Drupal. It gives lots of advantages, mostly similar to using vi for a Wiki. I get *much* faster WYSIWYG editing because it doesn't have to go back and forth down an HTTP link, I get my choice of WYSIWYG editor, or I can use vi, or I could use Bluefish. Whoopee! I may even try Drupal again, having tried a wide range of alternatives many of which trip over at the same place, rather weak (and clumsy) content editing. I realise this is a 'one user' fix, it's not going to be a generic approach to editing in CMS but it makes a big difference for me and maybe this could be useful for others. -- Chris Green (chris(a)halon.org.uk)

First let me say that I've researched this and didn't find a suitable answer. Is there a module already available either officially or unofficially that will allow me to email all registered users? I don't want a separate subscribe to this email news type of system, I just want to email all registered users. Earnie

pathauto install problems
