Referencing images / multimedia content

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to reference images and other multimedia content from a page in Drupal. I'm building a large multi-language site in Drupal 6 (about 7 languages, will expand in future). It's a business-style site rather than a community-style one, so the pages are reasonably static and will generally be originally implemented by web designers. Non-technical users will complete translations of pages and also small updates, fix typos etc. How do I reference pictures that are related to a certain page (as opposed to part of the theme)? I understand I should store them in sites/sitename/files so I could reference them with src="sites/sitename/files/pic.jpeg", but it would make more sense to reference them using the PHP function file_directory_path(). However, if I embed PHP code into the page then the non-technical users are not able to edit the page unless I allow them to save PHP code. Does this all make sense? Am I working in the right direction? What should I do? Thanks, John

cache tables?

There are a lot of cache related tables in the database. Is there a list somewhere of which ones can be emptied safely, or can they all? Here is a list of the tables I am seeing and the number of rows: cache 3 cache_block 33 cache_content 403 cache_filter 56 cache_menu 2 cache_page 0 cache_views 11

Hello, I'm trying to create a view that will display all the nodes of a certain type created by a user. I'd like this view to be in a block and to receive the user from the page that is currently being viewed - node profile page. So If I'm looking at a node profile page of user number 1, I'd like to have a block display all the nodes created by user number 1. The relatedview module does something quite similar but with taxonomy. I tried to modify it but couldn't understand the code quite well. I'm not sure I quite understand how to send a value to a view dynamically other than the path. And actually I'm not quite sure how to change the paths to fit what I need. I'm working on a website that will have different users and these users will have different projects. And I'd like to create views to display there projects based on the user, without having to manually create a view each time. Basically I'd appreciate any help understanding how I can pass different 'where' values to a view. Thanks Idan

Drupal 5.7 - cannot update nodes

Hi, I've run into a strange problem on a small personal blog. When I edit a node (any node) and submit it, I get redirected to the frontpage and the node I was editing is not updated. No errors in drupal's log or in the server logs (though they do not log mysql errors). The strange thing is that I can create new nodes but then I still can't edit them (the changes are not saved). Revisions are enabled, but I've tried disabling them with no luck. Any suggestions? Maybe somebody knows what could be wrong? The site worked fine for some time. No major changes were made before this happened (just editing menu items, nodes). Thanks in advance, Domas

Weird version problem

All the sudden, my live site went from 5.7 to to 5.1. I have been trying to fix it last few days but to no avail. I have 5.6 directory on the server in case something like this happens. I swapped 5.7 directory with 5.6 backup directory, and it still saying 5.1. I am totally puzzled. - Ran update.php many times - Emptied cache table - Updated one of the modules under 5.6 backup directory, hoping it will shock something (ha-ha) but to no avail. The real directory is called "/music/" which is made root by: RewriteRule (.*) music/$1 [L] I hope the way I setup isn't the culprit especially since this has been working fine since last July. I am no ;htaccess expert (or should I say no web dev expert), and someone suggested this. The reason why I didn't want Drupal files on root is that would make update harder and I didn't see any easy way to recover in case of emergency. Redirect from one page to another?

How do I put a page redirect on one page, and have it redirect to another. I want to make this a field in a content type so users can do it too. I have tried the redirect module, but it seems to make the whole website redirect, not just one article.

CCK Contemplate 'Add to cart' button - remove quantity box

Sorry to post this again, but I have a really urgent rather tiny design question: Using Drupal 5.x, CCK and Contemplate (and Ecommerce) I have added print drupal_get_form('product_cart_form', $node); to my teaser template, and it displays the quantity box and the add to cart button. My question: Is there a possibility to ONLY display the 'Add to cart' button WITHOUT the quantity box (with the quantity automatically set to '1')? What do I have to write into my teaser template in order to achieve this? Thank you Laura.

How to modify and existent view ?

Hi all. I have defined a view with /admin/build/views. Now I want to get this view add one filter (cck input field) and display the new results. I have do this: $view = views_get_view('lista_articoli'); //var_dump($view); views_view_add_filter($view,'content_field_visibilita_utente_livello','field_visibilita_utente_livello_value','=',3,''); //var_dump($view); views_sanitize_view($view); return views_build_view('embed',$view,array(),false); My problem is that the filter is not add to the view.
