Taxonomy terms not displayed on admin screen

I'm having a weird problem with my taxonomy display where when I go to list terms for my vocabulary, all the terms are not displayed, even though they are in the database in both term_data and term_hierarchy. Page 1 displays up to a certain amount, but when I go to page 2, I see "No terms available", even though there are more terms to be displayed. I initially thought it might be the theme (I'm using root Candy in the OpenPublish distro), but even when I use Garland or other themes as the admin theme, I still get the same results. Has anyone else seen this problem? Thanks. Steve

SSL Form Posts in Drupal are sent in the clear ...

... this is bad, I won't be able to deploy to production until I fix this. I've configured mod_ssl with my apache to require my drupal site to run in SSL. And then I changed my login form to post back in https all the time $form = array( '#action' => preg_replace('/^http:/', 'https:', url($_GET['q'], drupal_get_destination(), null, true)), ); So my logins are encrypted. So I'm on the site and https is encrypting the GETs, but then I change a form, say my profile page, then I post anything back to the server and my browser says I am sending text in the clear, non-encrypted. Does this mean I need to rewrite the form posts for every form post page ? Has anyone seen this, please assist a fellow Drupal user,

Unable to keep logged in to some sites when behind a proxy

Hi everybody, sorry if I'm submitting this twice but the first time I wasn't subscribed to the list yet, and since my message didn't show up on the archives, maybe nobody received it actually. Please let me know if someone has already experienced such problems, eventually giving me some pointer about the solution - assuming there is any (I'm forwarding my message here below, please have a read). Once I'm logged in, I can disconnect (keeping the browser open), connect again with the proxy connection and continue surfing without being thrown out. The thing that hassles me is that on frasic.altervista.org I'm experiencing no problems at all. I have no clue, any suggestion or pointer will be really welcome. I hope this was the right place to ask for help about this issue. I'd have some more questions I'd like to submit to the community, and my idea was to post them on the drupal.org forum, but as you know by now, I cannot easily use it. Just to let you know, to get around this connection problem with the trick mentioned above (login - change connection - continue surfing) I'd have to subscribe another Internet connection but I currently can not afford it (the experiment was made with a friend's connection). Please let me know if I can submit those issues here in the mailing list - that's no bug report or feature request, it's about making some context-aware sidebar boxes (unfortunately I wasn't able to find a solution in the existing threads, although there are many which cover the "context-aware sidebar content" and "pass variables to box content" topics) Thank you very much for your attention, feel free to ask in case you are interested in this issue and need further details to investigate it. Is it mandatory to run updates if only trusted people can create content and comments?

Hi everybody, some questions which I wasn't able to find an answer to, searching the web and the Drupal site (as I mentioned before, the link for searching the support list archives is broken, hence I couldn't search there). Some of the sites I'm creating do not give to users the ability to create content, nor to comment anything. Only administrators can create content and post comments, as well as creating new accounts (but those sites will have just a handful of users in any case, the administrators themselves). So the question is: in such a scenario, is it mandatory to run updates - especially security updates? My knowledge about security issues borders the zero line, hence I really don't know how much risk I would be taking by not running updates regularly - by the way, regular backups are a rule for me in any case, moreover because I could break the site myself ;-) Imagine now I give anonymous users the ability to comment, while keeping all content creation permissions for administrators, would then an outdated site still be safe? And finally, since I will be using the Views module, are Views arguments an entry point for attacks, forcing me to run updates? Thank you for your attention, kind regards, Francesco

modify email headers

hi list. how do I modify the mail headers that are sent by Drupal? for some reason emails sent from my installation have the sender as nobody(a)host.domain.com. note that I have specified a valid email address under site configuration / site information. -- All The Best, Mohammed Al-shar'

ldap provisioning module

Hi all, I sent this earlier but not sure if any one go it. excuse the resend if you received it in the past. I'm trying to use the samba ldap provisioning module for the uidNumber attribute as the standard ldap provisioning module doesn't seem to support this. While I can use the ldap provisioning module as long as I insert a line in the Basic LDAP attributes window to look like this; uidNumber: 3000 I can't seem to have it auto generated when enabling the samba ldap provisioning portion. Can any one shed some light on how I can have the uidNumber attribute generated by Drupal or how to properly use the ldap samba module? I am using the posixAccount object class that needs a uidNumber attribute. I am using Drupal 5.12 and have it talking with my OpenLDAP and can add/remove users via Drupal as long as I manually add uidNumber: 3000 for example but I would like this automatic. I'm even unsure if I am explaining this correctly? Thanks in advance, - aurfalien

can't reset password

hi everyone, on my Drupal powered website if I try to reset a password Drupal throws an access denied message. here's what I do exactly: * go reset my password and enter my user name * Drupal sends a message with one time login which I use. * I then go to edit my account and change my password. and press submit * I am logged out and I get an access denied page. in the logs I find the following: md5() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/nattiqc/public_html/modules/user/user.module on line 225. the strange thing is that I took the database and the file system off my linux vps to my windows with lamp locally, and that same sinario works as expected. although I have the same versions of apache and php on both machines. can somebody give me a hint? perhaps using that error message from the logs? -- All The Best, Mohammed Al-shar'

URL of website doesn't point anymore to Drupal installation

sorry for the vague subject, but I couldn't find a better one. I have the website http://digifreedom.net running on a VPS with Drupal 6.10 . This is a multisite Drupal setup: only one installation, with subdirectories in sites/, and a separate mysql database for each website. For several reasons, I had setup DNS, drupal and everything to work without the www prefix on domain names. In other words, http://digifreedom.net is OK, www.digifreedom.net was never used. Everything worked perfectly for months, if not years. Five minutes ago, somebody wrote to me that a digifreedom.net URL I suggested him to read "doesn't work". I checked, and what happens now is that, if I type http://digifreedom.net/node/82 the browser is immediately redirected to www.digifreedom.net/node/82, which returns an error message: "Firefox can't find the server at www.digifreedom.net" That error message is OK, because I had NOT set up apache to answer to that address. What I don't get is why http://digifreedom.net becomes www.digifreedom.net. I haven't changed anything myself in DNS, drupal or apache config, so why all of a sudden something started to behave differently? The weirdest thing is that this "forced redirection from example.com to www.example.com happens with some, but not all of the other domains configured in the same way and running on the same server off the same Apache/Drupal installation! How can I find, at least, which piece of the puzzle is responsible for this problem? I am aware that probably this isn't even a drupal issue, I just need a pointer in the right direction.
