Adaptive theme or not?

I have a site up and running with a subtheme of Genesis and am considering theming it with the Adaptive theme. I read "Adaptivetheme is a powerful theme framework with support for *mobile and tablet devices*, configurable layouts... ". I was just wondering if anyone with experience implementing this theme could answer my question as to whether implementing this theme gives me more advantages than just going into the css of the present site and theme and instituting the media queries necessary. drupal 7 problem with text encoding

I'm having a problem with text filters in Drupal 7. Without any rich text editor installed, if I add the code below in a Full HTML format text area, the html codes get sanitized. Added: <a href="/session/session-one">Session One</a> <img src="/files/logo.gif">Logo Sanitized to: <a href=\"/session/session-one\">Session One</a> <img src=\"/files/logo.gif\">Logo When I add the Wysiwyg module with the CFKeditor engine, the sanitization strips out even more: Added: <a href="/session/session-one">Session One</a> <img src="/files/logo.gif">Logo Sanitized to: <a href="\">Session One</a> <img src="\" />Logo The Full HTML text format is configured to: * Convert URLs into links * Convert line breaks into HTML (i.e. and ) * Correct faulty and chopped off HTML I can't find any other configs that might be affecting this. Please help. Can't locate phpbb_api.php/phpbbforum won't connect to phpBB3 database

Hello, I've followed the install instructions to the letter, I even had to get two other people to interpret them for me however no phpbb_api.php file was contained in neither phpbbdrupalbridge or phpbbforum module zip folders so I'm confused as to how the module is supposed to locate this file if it was never in existence to begin with? I tried manually creating the file however I just get a white page with a random error. Let me know if any additional information is required, I'm running the latest version of drupal core 7.9 and Acquia Drupal stack on a localhost. -- *Semper Paratus*

Drupal 7 Login Problem, When Creating New Account

Drupal 7 has a lot of issues with one basic feature -- new accounts. 1. When a user creates account he doesn't get any message that account has been created or a mail is sent. The user is redirected to the home page. 2. The email send to the user has his user name and instead of password it simply says Your Password. Help please. I want 1. Once user creates account he sees a message that an email is sent. 2. The mail must carry a password. access questions

Hi, I am trying to find a module that will grant access to a node per user to either be able to view or not view a node. I hoping better then contact access where you had to enter the users name and hope you got it right, maybe like a list of users with check boxes by their names. Checked, they can view the node, not checked they can not. I'm not knocking contact access, great module I used Acl with content_access under drupal 6. It worked great, just would like a better user access selection method per node. Any suggestions? Modules advice

Some advice on best practice.. Is it better to use modules specific to a task even when another module that's needed anyway can achieve the same result? Here is what I mean.. I currently have a site that uses "Login Destination" and "Rules".. "Rules" can do the same thing, redirecting users to a page on login.. So in this scenario and others like it would it be better to remove "Login Destination" and just create a rule to do what's needed? TIA

Hide certain tabs

Hi all, I'm trying to hide some tabs installed with some modules and to do that I'm using hooks like: hook_menu() hook_menu_alter() and I'm setting the access_callback to false. Some tabs are hidden with hook_menu() other with hook_menu_alter() (why?) and another one doesn't want to go away anyhow :) The tab is been installed with the flag module and it's called Bookmarks. So do you know the best way to hide tabs? Should I use temable functions? Regards, Sal

am I doing thingts wrong!

I have started another drupal project today and am running in to yet more problems, I'm not the happiest with version 7.x. Here is what I have done. 1 upload fresh copy of drupal 7.9 2 wile that is happening creating the db 3 run the install and it goes just fine. Chose minimal 5 go to content types and define my content type 6 needed more so enabled field ui and everything related to field 7 went and grabbed file field sources 8. activate it in modules 9 back to content type and tried to configure it and when I saved I see db errors: Error message Notice: Undefined index: field types in field_ui_widget_type_options() (line 1435 of /home/example/public_html/med/modules/field_ui/field_ui.admin.inc). Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in field_ui_widget_type_options() (line 1435 of /home/example/public_html/med/modules/field_ui/field_ui.admin.inc). I am not understanding why I am running in to these errors, never had these kind of problems as often under drupal 5 and 6. So maybe I am doing things wrong? questions about building a site

Hi, I have been asked to build a drupal site that will have the following features. 1. moderator access level to be able to a. enter users address and contact information for a user on the site, the user will be a member of the site, the user may see his/her contact information, if requested. By default they will not. b. ability to keep notes on the user that is only visible to the moderator 2. second feature is to grant access to files was thinking of using: Acl and content access modules. I did this in d6, but I know I should be able to do this a lot better in d7. I would like to start from the ground up thinking there is better and easier ways to accomplish this. Access levels would be Admin myself Moderator about three people that will manage the above features. Clients user of the system that the moderators will keep track of contact info, notes and progress and content access. Anonymous access to learn about the site and that is about it so far. If anyone has any suggestions on things to consider or modules I should read about I would appreciate it. Thank you. rewrite rule problems [neighborhood-association.org]

Using a CMS without a RTE, I created a page and pasted into the body: <a href="/session/session-one">Session One</a> After saving the page, I edited it again and found it changed to: <a href=\"/session/session-one\">Session One</a> I've been going back and forth with people on the national Drupal support listserv and got the two suggestions below. Can you please check my php.ini and conf files to see if there is anything unusual in them? I've done many, many Drupal installs any several different servers and have never run into this problem. Suggestion 1: Looks like magic quotes or some such php setting might be turned on. In your installation. I'd look for these in your php.ini Suggestion 2: It could be in the .htaccess file which has a conditional for checking mod_rewrite, but most of the effective settings are in the httpd.conf file. cPanel scripts can mess up the .htaccess files uniformly. The RewriteRule and RewriteCond are things to look for in httpd.conf. Someone might have mixed up your slashes. Another issue is that might possibly be causing a problem is that the account's main domain is not longer valid. I put in a request today to change the main domain to a valid DN.
