Calendar for scheduling work

I will be upgrading an existing Drupal site from version 5 to either version 6 or version 7 but also extend it considerably at that same time. For one thing, e-commerce will be added and also a scheduling function (has nothing to do with e-commerce) with the following capabilities desired: * calendar display month-by-mont similar to the default month view of Google calender, * ability for the website administrator to schedule one or more events each day which he should be able to make visible to selected users on a per-event basis; * ability for these users to mark days - or parts of days - as available or not available or may be available; * finally and ideally, some way of generating semi-automatic e-mails based on the various events each user has confirmed that they will accept. In short, this will be a calendar-based system for scheduling instructors for various courses (which generally last two to five hours, i.e., no recurring courses), offer each course to selected instructors based on their geographic location and the availability they have marked in the calendar and keep track of the workflow of the scheduling process and last, to be able to send reminders and information to the instructor who has accepted an assignment. Can something like the above be accomplished (or almost accomplished) with a canned module(s)?

I'm setting up video displays using the FlashVideo module and JW Player. Am trying to find out if there is some method available for having thumbnails generated from these video files, short of the obvious method of created and uploading them manually. PDF as a menu item

My customer has a PDF of his products and now wants a menu item to display that file. I tried just creating an item with that file's [relative] URL and it says that the path is invalid. Drupal 6 for the moment, but will probably be going to 7 soon. Nancy E. Nancy, Sometimes it can be a challenge to relate a server file path with a url - at least one that actually works. :-) What I do at these times - besides make a cup of coffee - is step back a bit and go to a file / url relationship that I know works. For instance the CHANGELOG.txt file, often left on the webroot. If you can get that to work on the menu then put the pdf there and if that works, then go from there maybe. please white-list my IP

hello, my IP has been grey listed by drupal.org and it won't let me access documents. I'm developing on the road and in thailand right now and I need access to the site. I've sent "please white list my IP": http://drupal.org/httpbl/whitelist Three times now over 14 days but I get no response or remedy from anyone… does anyone know how I can get access to drupal.org again? This is painful. my IP is: 58.10.65.169 If any of your can help it would be appreciated as I can't even access Drupal.org to contact anyone via the website either. Drupal 7 create content - page or article

I think the best way of not displaying Date and submitted By, is by configuring the content type not to display Author information 1. Go to structure 2. select content types 3. Select the content type of choice(in your case its the basic page) 4. select edit 5. Select display settings 6. uncheck Display author and date information. Viola!! you are done and you won the see that scribblings of Author information again on that content type. Removing subdirectory

My customer had his site built in a subdirectory so that everything is addressed as "www.example.com/c". I'd like to move it all up to the root directory, which is simple. But this is a long time B2B site, so I'm going to guess that there are a lot of bookmarks floating around for his customers. Can .htaccess be used to remove the "c" from the URL? If so, how? I'm already planning to use it to require the "www". Nancy

can this be done with views

I have a node type called announcements I have created a page that will display the title, full body and then a teaser at the bottom. I then have a block that will display title as a link to the view page and the block displays the title and just teaser. What I am doing is creating an announcement block and using the scheduler module. I can't figure out how to have the title as a link in the block bring up its own page in stead of all of the the announcements Is there a way to make this happen? I'm a bit confused with views. If anyone can offer help I'd appreciate it. Is it possible to have a drupal base install that is not used other than for multi sites.
