Modifying bartik

I made a small change for an extra logo to the Bartik page.tpl.php file /themes/bartik/templates. This has the obvious disadvantage when upgrading say from 7.9 to 7.10 as it gets overwritten. Is there a way to put a changed file somewhere else so that the change can get merged with future updates? http://drupal.org/node/190815 mentions copying it to your theme folder. Is this /sites/all/themes? I'm looking at the suggestions as well, and tried page_node.tpl.php in the /themes/bartik/templates folder, but that didn't work

I have a block that contains javascript which calls a website that sends an ad to this block (see below: Note: I changed the domain name to adserveringwebsite). Permissions faults #2

Drupal 7 views and pages In regard to my previous post on roles and permissions, it seems that I cannot grant permission for a reviewer to modify content from another user. Is there a way to allow this please? I have given the role of Reviewer, permissions same as the Calendar Editor and included "Bypass access control" and "Administer Content" none of this helps. Content may be provided by any or all of 6 editors over a 3-4 week period. I need for the reviewer to be able to review and alter any content of this specific content type from any or all of those users as soon as the notification arrives in his email. I would really appreciate help on this please thanks Roger

Have a a problem with roles and permissions. Roles: Admininstrator, Editor, Reviewer, Calendar Reviewer, Page Reviewer, Page Editor Calendar Editor. Users: Peter = Reviewer Graeme = Calendar Editor, Editor Roger = Admin Fred = Special Page Editor Sam = Special Page Reviewer Content types: Page Calendar Special Page Events all have -- Workflow select field "Needs work", "Review", "Publish" Permissions for all editor roles are set to permit edit and delete for appropriate content types. Permissions for Reviewers are set to Administer content, and edit for appropriate content types. Log in as Page editor, Graeme, create a page with field set to Review. I created a view to display the page with path: /page-review with filters, not published, content:Workflow(=review) If I log in as graeme or peter and set drupal/?q=page-review in the url I get Access Denied "You are not authorised to access this page". Both graeme and peter have roles = editor Both pages were created as user = graeme Can someone please talk me through what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance Roger

only some reports working on new 7.10 install

I've got a new 7.10 install and the status ands update reports are working fine but not the top hits, top referers and others. I don't know where to look for settings or problems. My install says clean urls can not be enabled after 'the clean url test failed'. Documentation doesn't cover this case. Keeping dev and live site in sync

Folks: Hi. I am pondering the best way to modify and test my site without corrupting my live site. Currently, I ftp all of the files and db tables to my local computer and use MAMP to run my development site. But, since my live site is changing every day from users creating accounts, etc, how should I set this up so that when I upload my development site to the live one, it stays current? question about nodeconvert module

Curious if this module would be ok and not run me in to trouble down the road. Tested it on test server and things seem to be working ok. http://drupal.org/project/node_convert I have a production site that puts out announcements about a show that is recorded. Then when the show is recorded the info get re-entered in another content type and the file is attached. It would be easier to use this module and just convert the announcemnent to the other content type, attach the file and be done.
