Hi Tim, you really should make a subtheme if you are modifying things, it is very easy. you can rtfm (Read the fine manual) about subthemeing under http://drupal.org/node/1010576 Although this is for zen, it basically applies to all themes, the basic steps: 1. copy the theme folder that you want to modify 2. modify the names to whatever you want it of 1. the folder itself 2. the themes .info file 3. the themes css/theme.css (if exists) 3. check that all the files are mentioned in your new theme .info and change it to be a subtheme of your main theme 4. delete all the files you don't need to modify from your own subtheme folder 5. that should be it. In your case if you just changed node.tpl.php just remove everything but node.tpl.php and your subthemes .info file Of course after that you have to install the theme in appearance section or by drush en yourtheme It is more fun than it is fearsome.

Updating themes :: what is overwritten?

I'm using the mayo theme on drupal 7.17. I modified sites/all/themes/mayo/templates/node.tpl.php Should there be an update for mayo available and should I install it, I presume that node.tpl.php will be overwritten. Which one is better apacheslor_file or apachesolr_attachments

Dear All I am bit confused which module I should chhose apacheslor_file or apachesolr_attachments. My requirement is as below. 1. I have a custom form 2. Users can fill their data and upload their document, say their resume 3. Want the somebody search for users having particular skill set, searching should be done in their uploaded document (say resume). As I understand, apachesolr_attachments is useful when one file is attached to a node. In my case, I will not have a corresponding node . So it looks to me the appropriate module may be apacheslor_file. I tried using both modules (one at a time), and found apachesolr_attachments is working really good (with tika as well), however with apacheslor_file, got some errors while trying re-indexing. So my questions are 1. Which module will be more appropriate for above requirement 2. In case of apacheslor_file, how do you verify if a file is really indexed or not. Any pointers are highly appreciated. Thanks kamal necs, blr

SOLR + TIKA- Missing content from .pdf, etc....

Hi, I have Drupal 6.25 running the Solr search engine with apache-solr-3.6.1, drupal apachesolr module 6.x-1.7, drupal apachesolr_attachment module 6.x-1.0-beta3 and Tika tika-app-1.2.jar on red hat 5 with php 5.3. My search engine works, but it does not index content from any .pdf, .doc, .tgz, I do not see any errors on the report modules or solr's log >From the command line Tika does return results. I Google to see if can find an answer to the problem and I have not found the solution yet. Different message say to move tika to different places like (apache-solr-3.6.1/contrib/extraction/lib or a link to apachesolr/contri/extraction/lib) and have try but no solution. I am NOT using Tomcat, should I??? Any ideas to get solr and Tika to play nice. Thanks,

Drush Make problem

Dear all, Using DRUSH MAKE for the first time. I have generated a make file on my remote host and now want to "make" it on the local. I go to drive m: and say "Drush make makefilename" and what it does is install the files in c:/users/admin/appdata/local/temp. Where is the setting for the destination directory? And secondly why does make say "M:\test>drush make loc.polamnew.com.make Make new site in the current directory? (y/n): y Source directory [error] C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp/drush_tmp_1355464885_50cac0b5e900c/x *drupal-7.17 is not readable or does not exist.* Project drupal (7.17) could not be downloaded to [error] D:\test>drush make loc.polamnew.com.make Make new site in the current directory? (y/n): y Source directory [error] C:\Users\administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\make_tmp_1355464883_50cac0b39a1bb/__bu ild__. " which is probably related to the first question. Drupal 7 performance improvement

Dear All I was trying to look t what all steps one need to perform for better Drupal 7 performance. Came across http://friendlymachine.net/posts/2011/5-ways-to-improve-performance-in-drup…. Almost 5 different ways are mentioned for performance improvement. 1. Druapl cache enabled, css/java script compress 2. Boost module 3. Memcached module + server 4. Varnish cache + server My question is, can one use all 4 of them, or one need to choose only 1 of them. Or one need to choose few of them, can somebody guide me in this regard. Thanks

Drush - Deleting Modules

I obtained a module using something like: $ drush dl foobar and enabled it with: $ drush en foobar How can I do the reverse with Drush? I'd like to completely remove 'foobar' ... including the files under ../sites/all/modules/foobar/. I tried using 'dis' and 'pm-uninstall', but that didn't do all I wanted. Userref with extra stuff

I am using Entity Reference to select a user. For that user I also want to show, in the node display, the email address and a field from the Profile2 data. This is done in a myriad of places, not just one time. Some of those are parts of Field Collections, some are just part of Field groups. I tried EVA, but it seems to want to know to which field the view is to be attached. Given that there are many instances and some that may have multiple instances (in each collection), EVA doesn't seem to be a workable solution. Does anyone else have any brilliant ideas?
