<a href positioning Drupal 6

Drupal 6 site. I have a small image in a block in front of the header text , positioned using css. #myimage{ position:absolute; float:left; top:65px; left:50px; background:url("img/logo/myimage.png") no-repeat; height:170px; width:310px; } It is referenced in page.tpl.php as <div id="myimage" > <?php print $myimage ?> </div> , it displays ok. If I add <a href="go/to/another/url">This is my image</a> before the </div>, or before the <?print statement, It displays the link above the image. How can I display the link to the right side of the image instead of above? Is there a way of adding a class to do this? I would really appreciate help on this please. Thanks Roger

batch job - progress bar not advancing

Hi all: I made a simple module that uses the Batch API (closely based on one of the standard examples)... it runs, and works, but my progress bar is not advancing! Hiding a field

I was asked to come up with a simple hook_form_alter() code to hide a "select" field. It worked fine in D7, but then they said it was for D6. The code should be nearly the same. I can see that the form code is set to "hidden" and otherwise set up correctly. Indeed, a companion "checkbox" field does hide, but not the select field. Any ideas why? [Support] Views in D7 with OG

Hi Gurus, I have a D7 web site, and I had set up a content that is a type of a Group. Now I want to create a view in front page with all these content, without restriction regarding group. This content has an image field and I want to create front page view with these images. How can I do it? At the moment, this view shows only your own content, as defined in permissions. Session variable and cache

Hi all, I have a D7 website that needs to show an animation when the user enters the site, but not for as long as the user stays on the site. I wanted to use a session variable for this, but it seems there are many times the animation is not triggered. I assume this is due to caching of the page. How can I overcome this? Is there a cache save session variable or an alternative method used in situations like mine. At the start of the animation part I have the code <?php if(! isset($_SESSION['showAnimation'])): ?> at the end of the part I have <?php endif; $_SESSION['showAnimation']=2; ?> So when the user first visits the site, the variable is not found and the animation is show. After the animation the session variable is set and the animation is not shown any more. That last version is cached and the animation is not shown, even for the next user who visits the site. Visualizing regions in Zen theme

Newbie questions on D7: While I can visualize how regions are organized in Zen (structure->blocks->demonstrate block regions), where does this information come from? It does not seem to correspond to page.tpl.php. Also, is there any way I can similarly visualize how regions are organized on other pages? If so, how? Thanks.

Wireframes around regions in D7

I was trying to find out how to add wireframes around a couple of regions I had added to a new subtheme of the Zen theme in D7 after I had successfully turned on wireframes for the standard regions. I began by trying to find out how wireframes were turned on for the sidebars by searching many files for region-sidebar-first (which can be found in the wireframes.css file but could not find any reference to that class in the source files I searched in both the subtheme and the Zen base theme. On a lark I simply converted the statement in my info file "regions[triptych_1] = Triptych 1" to region-triptych-1 which I added to wireframes.css. Lo and behold, it worked! How, I have no idea, nor did I find any reference by Googling. Could someone explain how this is accomplished? Thanks.

I have noticed that wordpress sites are dominating the top search results on Google as they come with better SEO optimization as compared to Drupal sites. Is there anyway to check/improve the SEO optimization of Drupal sites? Best Arnie

D7 Rules - Combining Conditions.

I'm watching Johan Falk from http://dev.nodeone.se/node/993 I feel I'm not completely understanding Content Management and it's got to be easier than I'm making it. My problem: Each state or territory has to have it's own page/s and it's own editor and reviewer. The editor or reviewer for each has to be able to log in as a user/role via Rules to their appropriate state's page/s for editing and review. So far so good. If I have only the <front page> and simply display blocks for the different states and territories and their authorities, on that page, how can I give each editor of each block permissions to edit only their respective block of data. and... Does Workbench moderate blocks of data/information? If a node is promoted to front page, it appears as the first page generated. Question is, what if I need it on another page, how do I promote a node to a page of my choosing? Is every page considered to be the front page? Currently I have 20 pages some with blocks, none promoted to front page. Just some basic book cover info and a menu on <front> Should all pages be promoted to front page? If so, how would Drupal 7 differentiate between which page to display in what order? I've got books and gloogled but information seems sparse and does not cover these issues. I have a feeling I'm getting into more complexity that I need to by having a separate page for each state and territory and for each authority in that state or territory. Help on understanding the above is greatly appreciated. Many thanks Roger

Drupal 7 Rules

I have user1 through 8 for each role of coordinators, specialist coordinators, reviewers, specialist reviewers, and more. I can create a rule that when for example, user1 logs in as role specialist coordinator, it redirects to specialist coordinator page 1 and it's appropriate menu. Instead of some 20 similar rules, one for each instance, can I have one rule to handle all the above users and their roles and redirect to the appropriate page for that role or am I stuck with one rule for each user? I can add other users to a rule, set page redirects to all the pages but the conditions that would trigger user 1 to redirect to page 1 and user n to page n have me tossed. How can I do this? I have no php skills at all. thanks in advance Roger
