Strange behaviour on localhost site

I have a fully updated Drupal 7 copy of our live site on my fedora localhost/ I log in as admin. Problem is I cannot add a new content type. I can do so on the live site. On the localhost home machine I get error on a blank page (Seven theme): You are here Home >> Administration >> Structure >> Content types Home » Administration » Structure » Content types Content types Remove from Default shortcuts Individual content types can have different fields, behaviours, and permissions assigned to them. Displayed url is: http://localhost/mycopy/admin/structure/types/add <http://localhost/eal/admin/structure/types/add> and all work the same as the live site. Nothing reported in: admin/reports/dblog Admin permissions are set correctly No errors in /var/log. Have restarted mysqld Cleared browser histories on chromium and firefox I have since taken another copy of the live site and done a fresh install but with the same result. What would prevent the site from displaying the ability to add a new content type? Has anyone come across this anomaly and knows where to look to fix? Suggestions please TIA Roger

issue with custom module menu path

Ubercart - Commerce Migration

I have a client with a D6 Ubercart 2 site. We are starting now to work on the D7 upgrade. Most folks appear to favor Commerce over Ubercart for D7, so (unless someone wants to say otherwise) we are going to migrate to Commerce also. I see the basic tool is http://drupal.org/project/commerce_migrate_ubercart but the main question I have is where exactly to start. Should we upgrade the site to D7 and then run the migrator on the site itself? I don't think so. Perhaps run it from a copy of itself? Or upgrade to D7 and then run the migrator from the old D6 database? Or perhaps upgrade the site and Ubercart to D7 and then run the migrator from this Ubercart 3 database? The site only has around 15 products, 500 customers and 1000 orders. Second question is that is it really true that all the "buzz" is around Commerce? I haven't yet had a chance to work with this, as the only store I've done in D7 was in Ubercart, as that client insisted upon it. I started poking around today and found this post: http://www.drupalcommerce.org/discussions/4155/ga-ecommerce-tracking that no one answered until I just made an account and answered myself! The site I am migrating needs GA integration and also Donations like Ubercart has. I hope to have an opportunity to build a fresh site in Commerce before the end of the year, to learn it a bit, before I must do this migration. But I wanted to start now to learn about it. So the issues I have are: 1. How to start the migration process 2. Donations appear to be doable via this recipe: http://tinyurl.com/cstwnbu 3. 2CheckOut has a module here http://drupal.org/project/commerce_2checkout but it's still dev... 4. Paypal module is also just a RC1: http://drupal.org/project/commerce_paypal 5. Authorize.Net is dev: http://drupal.org/project/commerce_authnet and says it's just a "proof-of-concept" Those are the things I can think of now. Any feedback is appreciated. I sort of wonder if it's really worth it to migrate. Perhaps Ubercart 3 *would* be OK. Ubercart 3 has 2CheckOut, PayPal and auth.net (I think), donations ( http://drupal.org/project/uc_varprice ) and GA integration. Thanks, Fred

Just reading the INSTALL.TXT file for Drupal 7.x , and it says this: 7. Revoke documentation file permissions (optional). Some administrators suggest making the documentation files, especially CHANGELOG.txt, non-readable so that the exact version of Drupal you are running is slightly more difficult to determine. If you wish to implement this optional security measure, from a Unix/Linux command line you can use the following command: chmod a-r CHANGELOG.txt Note that the example only affects CHANGELOG.txt. To completely hide all documentation files from public view, repeat this command for each of the Drupal documentation files in the installation directory, substituting the name of each file for CHANGELOG.txt in the example. For more information on setting file permissions, see "Modifying Linux, Unix, and Mac file permissions" (http://drupal.org/node/202483) or "Modifying Windows file permissions" (http://drupal.org/node/202491) in the Drupal.org online documentation. Surely, would it not be smarter and cleaner to just move all the .txt files to a separate directory called 'docs', and then add a robot.txt exclusion rule to stop these from being indexed by search engines? I always unpack to a /Downloads/app-name/version/ directory, and unpack from there, and then copy only the files I want to the Apache DocumentRoot subdirectory. Any differences using MySQL or SQLite for Drupal?

Greetings all. I was wondering is there a difference between using MySQL or using SQLite3 as the Drupal database please? Obviously SQLite3 has the advantages of being serverless and easy to backup, as it's only one database file? But is there any reduction in the functionality if I used SQLite3 as opposed to using MySQL? I was thinking in terms of foreign keys, or oyher functionality that is in MySQL but not available in SQLite3. Using check_markup and check_plain

Hello All, I am using D6, want to use check_plain and check_markup functions. What is the best time to use these functions and why ? Should they be used before data is saved to DB OR Just before the data is rendered. I am trying to use both the functions on the same piece of text, firstly escape with check_plain and then implement check_markup to implement few set of filters. how to associate a node/add form to the node in the URL/loaded?

Hello, I have a node/add form for a Task node that is loading in a block. The Task needs to have a node-references automatically made for it (the user shouldn't see it or be able to alter it) that attaches (points) to the node which is being primarily displayed. So if you are on a Project page, you have the block for add task on the left, and I want this task to point to the Project node. The node is loaded and also in the URL path. The block that loads the add/Task does: <?php $form = node_add('project_task'); ?> Which $form variable do I set in the node/add form to have this default correctly? I see the variable in the form for the CCK field, just need to know how to associate it... #nid to set? #default_value? I tried #default_value but this doesn't seem to pass forward when rendered. what is the best way to handle this Scenario

Can I do this in drupal 7 with just fields in core? I want to have a selection list of countries Pending on the country chosen I want to have a second selection list of states for that country Then I would want to display the country and state in an Address City State Zip Country I know the address and city can be text fields. Any suggestions? Thank you.

API invoke during page refresh

Hi List I want to know is there any API in D7 is invoked when a page loads for first time or during page refresh/reload. During anyother time that particular api should not be invoked. I have a custom form, and I keep certain variables in $_SESSION. During first time page loads I want to reset the session variables.
