Mass E-Mail in Drupal 7

Dear All I have some doubt regarding mass email in Drupal. Lets say I want to send mass email to 5000 users at a time from a custom module. In custom module, I have to make use of drupal_mail() to send email. Now do I need to loop through 5000 times and send the mail, or is there any way I can send mail to 5000 users. Can I put 5000 email ids in CC or BCC . If so, with drupal_mail, how can I put the mail ids in CC or BCC list. Is there any limit how many email ids I can put in CC / BCC. Note: Once I tried to sending 3500 mails, in a for loop. Each email id I did put in to field. Looks some of the users did not get email. I am wondering what is wrong and why some users did not get mail. Thanks kamal

One method I've used is to only give trusted users the privilege of posting. I allow for the user to register and accept that registration based on the first logon mail link. Then if they want to post, comment or wiki, I have another role set to assign to them based on asking me. It keeps the SPAM off the site. The other method is to use a service such as Mollom. Custom print template help..

Hi, I have a content type that creates a basic invoice.. I now need to create a formatted printable invoice using the data shown on the invoice.. I have installed the print module which created the "printable version" link.. I now need to customise the layout.. This is a non-programmer talking so please be gentle and verbose.. :) I created a "print--node--invoice.tpl.php" in my theme directory and copied the tpl.php file from the print module directory to get me started.. So far so good.. Now where I have got stuck is putting in the individual fields where I want them.. There is a $content variable used in the example but that just shows everything.. How do I tell the template where I want individual fields? So for example say I want to output the field_inv_num value? Thanks..

Drupal 7 + AJAX + Java Script issue

Dear All I have used previously Drupal 7 form with AJAX. But first time using along with java script. I am facing a typical issue as explained below. Kindly check if you can help out or give some pointer to fix it. I have a page, where I am presenting 100 users data to a logged in user. We need to send mass email for certain users. So I have provided one checkbox per user. Logged in user selects few checkboxes and tries to send mass email. I have buttons "show email form" and "hide email form". Using AJAX I am able to show the email form (having subject and body fields, and "send email" button etc) and hide the email form (just by clicking "show email form" and "hide email form" buttons). Till this point it works nicely. While I am trying to send email, I enter subject, mail content and press "send email" button which is present in AJAX area div. To my surprise when I click "send email" button corresponding submit handler is not invoked, hence not able to send email. I have a java script, that just does Select / Unselect all for all checkboxs. Can somebody point out is it a known issue and how do we overcome it. Thanks kamal

Drupal - Determining checkbox selection in a next page

Dear Drupal Experts I have data for 100 users, and I am going to show the data of 100 users (such as name, resume (partly), qualification etc to a logged in user. Also for 100 users I want to keep 100 checkboxes. When logged in user want to send mass emails to some users out of those 100 users, the logged in user need to select the corresponding checkbox and next click send email button. Next another second page should with a email form (like To , Subject, Mail body fields). Now my question is when second page (containing email form) comes, how do I know which all users were selected by logged in user for sending mass email. Best Regards kamal

Print module with Drupal 7

Hi, I have been fighting with this for two days now and I am sure its easy for a programmer but I am not one.. I have an "invoice" content type and I need to have a printable version of the invoice that has a completely different layout to that of the normal node display.. So it seems the right way was to use the "print" module.. I have created my "print--node--invoice.tpl.php" in the theme directory and have been trying to access the fields.. I have put "<?php print_r( get_defined_vars()); ?>" into the code and I see there are a whole lot of values defined but I can't workout how to access them. Can someone give me the "idiots" guide to accessing and correctly rendering the fields in the print template of the "print" module? Even something simple like the ['created'] date for the node?? Thanks

Drupal 7 apache solr search filer ...

Dear All I am trying to write a search filter for a field having a value in a range or a specific value. Say if I want to have a filter like 1. Select profiles with salary 5 to 10 or Salary 0. So I expect profiles having salary either 0 , 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 etc. To do this, I have written code as below. $index = 0; if($include_0_salary == 1) { $conditions['fq'][$index++] = 'salary:[' . $min_ctc . '+TO+' . $max_ctc . ']+OR+salary:0'; } else { $conditions['fq'][$index++] = 'salary:[' . $min_ctc . ' TO ' . $max_ctc . ']'; } $results = apachesolr_search_search_execute($keys, $conditions); When $include_0_salary is false, it gives me expected result. When $include_0_salary is true, solr server crashes. I am sure, the way I am setting the fq param, is not proper. Has somebody done this previously, kindly help, suggest me whats the right syntax. Thanks kamal
