Errant chrome behavior and script probs

Two things: - Has anyone had experience or headaches with this issue: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20099844/chrome-not-respecting-rem-font-… If so what solved it for you? - My site polamdev.tony-mac.com has a module in the footer. Look for green button. Panel should slide out to the left from the button but actually slides out at top of page. BUT when I am logged in it behaves 'correctly' and slides out next to div with green button. I have looked and looked but see no permission problems, no css problems, no script problems. Extending existing module

Hi, This time I didn’t do anything embarrassing. :-) How can I extend an existing module? E.g. I want to add some features/validations in web form module. I know I MUST NOT change the code in the webform module itself. I believe there is some solution to extend a module. Something like extending a theme (sub-theme). And updating the module will not break the website.

Bad update requests

The WYSIWYG module only works using the dev version with the latest CKEditor. But WYSIWYG generates daily update e-mails telling me to update to the 2012 release version instead of the installed later dev version. How do I turn this annoyance off somehow? -- James A. Can't remove a custom module?!?!?

Hi, I’m following a online tutorial how to create a custom module. I created .info and .module files, put help and menu hooks, etc. on localhost (MAMP). I wanted to remove the module and I (think) followed the procedure to remove a module. First turned the module off, then uninstall it and then removed the module folder from siltes/all/modules. Though, the module is still listed on the module page?!?!?!!? I can turn it on/off, I can uninstall it again - NO ERRORS!!! But the module folder is not there?!!? I checked through file browser, command line, code editor - there is no module folder nor .info nor .module files. Using phpMyAdmin I searched if the ‘modulename’ exists somewhere and found three places: system, variables and watchdog. I deleted from system table and watchdog. It doesn’t help either. What am I doing wrong? If it’s picking up from other place - how to check where the place is? :(

Avoiding a drush / drupal version mismatch

I just wasted a few hours trying to track down the error Table 'drupal.variable' doesn't exist when doing drush si. Turns out that the releases of drush marked 6.x at https://drupal.org/node/97249/release?api_version%5B%5D=87 work fine with Drupal 6, but the releases at https://github.com/drush-ops/drush/releases all seem to exhibit the bug. I guess the github project releases simply aren't meant to support Drupal 6. So, if you're trying to use drush with drupal 6, best to use the old download page, not the one at github. Probably this was obvious to everyone else, but it was a surprise to me.

How to become a master module builder

Hi, I'm rather new to Drupal but not LAMP. I'm trying to learn how to create a module so I followed https://drupal.org/developing/modules/7 ... I learnd a lot, however I do not fully understand what I need to do to add a check box to the article pages, save it's settings....etc. I think I might be able to muddle through making a block since that is what the tutorial was about. Any suggestions on how to go from confused to master module maker? Thank you for your feedback!! Keith

field management and views question.

Hi, I have immersed myself in Drupal 7 for the last 10 days. I have learned a lot and have a lot to learn. Please feel free to comment or correct anything I might write. I want to be able to mark articles as a top story and/or a featured articles and put a list in the left column. After reading a ton of the online docs I decided the field management and views was the way to go. I assume I could also create a module or put the code in the theme's function file. I downloaded and installed two modules: 1) views-7.x-3.8.zip 2) ctools-7.x-3.8.zip I added the two fields as integers and was able to get things working. So far so good. The problem is the at the bottom of the content of the article marked as a featured article It shows: Featured Article: 1 And at the bottom of the article marked as top story it shows: Featured Article: 0 Top Story: 1 On an article that is not marked as either at the end of the content is: Featured Article: 0 Top Story: 0 Any help and advice is much appreciated!! Help needed with twitter / oauth module

Hi all, I have a weird case. I created an website offline. Then I restored the database and files on the live server. But the twitter-module is not working. It appears that it got's corrupted somehow along the way. Which tables are involved with the twitter module? The twitter config page just shows the oauth settings, not the twitter settings. Also the tabs are missing. I deinstalled the module, installed it again, no results. Can anyone help me to debug this error? regards, Paul

First and Last names pre-filled in a Webform

Hi to all! In /admin/config/people/accounts/fields I created First and Last name fields (field_name_first and field_name_last). Installed Real Name module and on /admin/config/people/realname page, for Realname pattern I selected [user:field_name_first] [user:field_name_last] Now, on the profile page, instead username I can see First and Last name. Works great. I created a Webform with first and last name fields (some kind of registration for an event). Label: “FirstName” (no quote, of course). Field Key: “first_name”. If I got it correct, I have to put field name into Default value field to pre-filled the fields with user data. I tried every possible combination and never got the first (or last) name into first (last) field. I tried %profile[field_name_first], %profile[user:field_name_first], [user:field_name_first], [field_name_first] - nothing works. If I put %username I’ll get username pre-filled in the form field. The same if I use %profile[name]. But can’t get First name. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
