Can Drupal be customised to create a student-group hub (social-network)?

Good Morning, I'd like to utilise a social-network site for student-groups using only Free and Open-Source tools. Mockup of the student-group homepage (dashboard): http://i.stack.imgur.com/ggEDC.png I am looking at various solutions both Drupal based (Drupal Commons, OpenAtrium &etc) and not (Diaspora, Insoshi, Yogurt Social Network, BuddyPress, Elgg, Mahara, CommunityEngine, Lovd by Less &etc). Is Drupal the best platform for this site, or should I use something else? — If Drupal, please tell me which modules (or distribution of modules, or project) to use. fieldsets are not rendered collapsible if #title is '0' or 0 because of missing fieldset-legend in html source.

Hi, if a fieldset shall be collapsible and has '#title' => 0 or '#title' => '0' in form_function the resulting html is missing "fieldset-legend" and therefore the fieldset is not copllapsible. The Legend of the fieldset ("0") is not rendered either, of course. If collapsed => TRUE is set in addition this part of the form is not accesible! Can anybody reproduce this? I guess this is a major bug, isn't it? Theme css

I suspect that the css in my theme is somehow not configured correctly. Now when I do changes in the CSS I don't see the changes on my site even though I can see the proper and edited css files on the server. When I look in chrome developer tools (or firefox firebug) I see weird css file names .... see attached. Any ideas or similar experience? How to drag and reorder images in an Image Gallery?

Dear Colleagues, In my website, I have an Image Gallery here: http://drupal.ambreenbutt.com/category/image-galleries/works/dirty-pretty I am trying to determine a way to allow dragging and reordering of images in the gallery. I came upon the Sortable Grid <http://drupal.org/project/sgrid> module that appears to promise to do just that. Problem is I just cannot determine how to make it work. The only doc I can find is on the same page <http://drupal.org/project/sgrid> under "Getting Started". But it does not tell me what to do to make my existing Gallery View sortable. many-to-many help needed

Greetings - I am not exactly sure how to approach a particular data modeling task in Drupal. Although I am newcomer to Drupal, I have experience w/ relational database modeling (part of my ramp-up w/ Drupal is figuring how to map Entity-Relational concepts to Drupal). I'm faced w/ this in a few places on my current project, but I will describe just one example (simplified for illustrative purposes): I have a "book" content type and I have a "fictional character" content type. I need to record the page number on which a particular character first appears in a book. Note that a character can appear in many books and that a book (typically) has many characters. I can acheive this with an "appearances" content type which had node reference fields for both "book" and "fictional character" and a field for page number. What I am unclear on is how best to present this to a user who is entering data. In my particular case, the "book" content type will be pre-populated. I'd like to have a form for creating a new character which includes a pull-down list of books. When a book is selected, another widget appears in which a page number appears. This "pair" of book & page needs to be repeatable, since a character may appear in many books. The trick here is to have a form for creating one content type "fictional character" that upon submission, created not only the "fictional character" instance, but the necessary "appearance" instances as well. Any ideas (even if only a pointer to a module that might get me started, similar examples, or documentation) would be greatly appreciated. If writing a custom module is necessary, that is something I can probably tackle (any tips re: apis & such in that case would be welcome). --Peter Keane Liberal Arts ITS The Univ. of Texas at Austin

Blocks on user pages

Does /user really go to /users/LoggedInUserName? I have a block that I put on /users/* and it shows mysteriously on /user and the block I put on /user doesn’t show at all. Is there a workaround for that? Joel Willers

Drupal 7 and Adsense

I'm moving a site from D6 to D7. Ad the site is using Adsense I need to get this running in D7 too. I fail to get the Adsense module (https://drupal.org/project/adsense) running on my local machine. Nothing shows up in the source of the page, except for some comments. I'd expect at least some javascript. It doesn't matter whether I log out or not, the result is the same. As the Adsense module is still in development and looks like a quick version port, I wonder what the experiences are from other people. Do any of you have success integrating Adsense in your D7 sites? What module are you using? Thanks. Bert

got "initramfs" issue when running my drupal 6.22 website hosted in the same hosting server (ISPConfig 3), VirtualBox VM, under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Dear Drupal Team, Recently, I happened to the "got "initramfs" issue when running my drupal 6.22 website hosted in the same hosting server (ISPConfig 3), VirtualBox VM, under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS". After restart the hosting server which hosts the drupal 6.22 website, after a while the website couldn't be accessed anymore and the hosting server hanged. Reboot the hosting server (VirtualBox VM), got the below message: [ 6.005753] ---[end trace b0da19118c7b1b0a ]--- Killed mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: No such file or directory Target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init No init file found. Try passing init= bootarg. BusyBox v1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu11) build-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of build-in commands. Fine-grained control over file download

Dear all, I'm looking for a way to have more precise control over file download permissions than what is achieved by the Upload module in D6. What I need: 1. Some of the uploaded files should be downloadable by everybody, but some others should be downloadable only by one or some roles. 2. When a user has not yet logged in, he/she should see what's there to be dowloaded for the eligible users. When following the download link, the login screen should appear, and the dowload be allowed if it turns out that the user has an appropriate role. What I tried: 1. Looking the drupal modules tagged with File management. Didn't find anything relevant. 2. With the filefield module, I created a field especially for the files whose download is supposed to be restricted. I added that field to a content type and allowed only one role to view that field. But that does not work as needed, because when a user is not logged in, the available files are not even shown. And moreover, assuming a user could guess the right URL to use, I'm pretty sure he/she would be able to download the file without the system being able to make sure the download is legitimate.
