Content Access for Drupal 6

I downloaded and installed Drupal 6. Content access recommended module and ACL recommended module. I enabled Content Access and ACL. I still do not see any way at all to set a permission per node. I went to the administration menu content-> as well as content-> types. Does it really have to be this difficult? Where the $%^& do I set a per node permission? I have been going mad for twelve hours trying to figure it out with Drupal 6 & 7. WTF?

File permissions

I have a content type, Admin role can edit/view. Authenticated users can only view. The content type has a file field. 1) I absolutely need only Authenticated to be able to view it. 2) I would really like all Admin to view it, but ONLY A SPECIFIC USER if they are only Authenticated. Currently the Anonymous users can see the file, even if the field is marked in Content Permissions as not viewable. Help! Joel

permissions? folders? files? newbie questions

This doesn't help me. If I knew which permissions were the right ones I'd certainly change them but what ARE the correct ones and where is this "public://color....." folder. and there doesn't appear to actually be any such folder as drupal-7.0/admin Ideas? documentation? Per node access modules.

content_access-7.x-1.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz acl-7.x-1.0-beta2.tar.gz I downloaded installed and enabled both modules. I still do not see any permissions tab when I use the content button of the administration dashboard or when I go to content->mypage and view it. Does anyone know what gives? I had it working before with this exact module. Arggghhhh! Thanks!

Main menu. (Tab that is only visible to user 'admin'?).

Supposing I want to add a tab to my main menu but I only want the user 'admin' or users of the group 'admin' to be able to see the tab. Can this be done? I'm trying to avoid a situation where the tab is visible to all users but certain users get an access denied.

My OS distribution is Fedora 14. Drupal 7. Apache web server with PHP support. I want the whole site to be HTTPS no exceptions. I googled but did not find a good tutorial. Anyone done this before?

Hi, I'm trying insert default values into some webform fields from a users profile. I have tried using this sytax: %profile[profile_mobile] Which should load up a mobile number from the current user profile but it just shows %profile[profile_mobile] again when viweing the form. Blog module.

My theme is Garland. I enabled the Blog Module and created a sample blog post. I notice that I do not have any button, link or other means of accessing blog content. I read that a link should be added to Garland theme when Blog Module is activated but I do not see one. I would like only Admin to be able to write a blog for all other users to read. How can something like this be accomplished? I'm on Drupal 7. Thanks!

moving Drupal 6 web site issue

I have moved sites before this problem, but have never experienced this; I could use some troubleshooting advice. I moved my domain from one hosting service (GoDaddy) to a new hosting service (HotDrupal). This works fine. I moved my website from one hosting service (Hostgator) to a new hosting service (HotDrupal). - I created a new database and a sub-domain called "ported.mywebsite.com" inside of "mywebsite.com/sites". - I ran an import to the new database with the original website's data. - I moved all of the files, from the original website, into the new sub-domain directory. - The settings.php file did not need to be modified except for changing localhost to "127.0.0.1". > Everything works fine and I was able to log in as /user/1 and work on the > website at "ported.mywebsite.com". ** This is where the problem happens. - I moved my website from "ported.mywebsite.com" to "mywebsite.com" on the server ("mywebsite.com" is the domain and "ported.mywebsite.com" is a sub-domain). - I ran an import to the database with "ported.mywebsite.com's" data. - I moved the "sites" directory from "ported.mywebsite.com" replacing " mywebsite.com's" sites directory. I can no longer log in as /user/1. - I told the Drupal application that I could not remember the password and it emailed me a one time log in that did not work. - I modified the password from phpmyadmin by creating a new one and adding MD5 hash. I cannot log in. - I changed a user's rid to administrator (a role I gave all permissions to) and logged in with that username but I was unable to login to the administration menu (even thought it is one of the allowed permissions within the admin role I created). Some pertinent (?) information Old cPanel Version 11.28.83 | Apache version 2.2.17 | PHP version 5.2.15 | MySQL version 5.1.52 New cPanel Version 11.28.76 | Apache version 2.2.16 | PHP version 5.2.14 | MySQL version 5.0.91-50-log .htaccess looks okay. settings.php looks okay. -- Best Regards, James R Stone fndtn357(a)gmail.com "The skill of coding is to create a context in which other people can contribute."
