how to access filefield with hook_nodeapi

Hello, First of all I would like to thank this lits for all the support I am receiving. I am writing my first module. I would appreciate any help with my question. I have created a content type called application. I am using two text fields and one filefield with this content type created using CCK. I am writing a custom module that does some operation on this node type when it is being created. Therefore I am using hook_nodeapi() in my custom module. function loadapp_nodeapi(&$node, $op, $a3 = NULL, $a4 = NULL){ switch ($op) { case'submit': // Do operations here break; } } I want to extract some information from this uploaded file and perform few other operations when the node is being created. New poster introduction and Drupal support request

Hello all- This is my first post to this list. My Name is Michael and I live in Auckland New Zealand (and shortly Melbourne Australia) My area of professional expertise and work is Systems Administration. Ie: I setup and maintain the back end servers for business and internet service providers. I have just installed Drupal 5.6, E-commerce 3.4 and associated required modules on a LAMP system. I have mostly got my head around it except that I would really like to catagorise the products rather then having a 6+ page continuous list. How can this be done please? Also I would like to obtain offers from original theme developer(s) to provide something professional for this website. I already have the logo completed. Kind regards, Michael Hallager

multiple site, on database confusion

hi everyone, i have one site running drupal 5.1 and publishing a podcast through the Views module. i want to set up a different drupal site on another domain. i want to be able to show the same view with the same podcast nodes. the new site will be focused on the podcast and have little or no content other than the View of the latest podcasts, maybe a category browser, and commenting. it will of course have a distinct template. i have been reading the handbook and other sources on running multiple sites off the same database. this seems to be the right direction. however, i'm confused about how to make it all work. advice? thanks -- will hall

Mixing local posts with aggregated posts in the front page

Hi For a community site, I'd like to display in the front page both local posts (i.e. posted to Drupal by registered users) and external posts from selected blogs. I know that I can use the Aggregator module for displaying external feeds separately, but I want to 'mix' those with the local ones, so I guess there should be some way of converting aggregated content into local nodes. Or is there some way to achieve what I want with Views? Any help on how to do this will be very appreciated. Thanks -------------------------------------------------------------------- Albert Cuesta

node reference

Hello, I have a content type song, that has a field "lyrics" which is a node reference to another node type "lyrics". When creating a "song" node, I'd like the field to display always the same text, such as "song words" and not the title of the lyrics node. Any idea how to achieve this? Idan
