session and users: different access methods

Hi, There is a session property in the user object (even anonymous) but it seems that all session operations are carried through assignment to the $_SESSION array. I was wondering if I miss some API function to use the $user->session. I understand that access through the $user object is a way to change sessions of *other* users but I couldn't see any function doing so and if there are any support function in core to unserialise, change, serialise, save into the $user->session column. At this moment I really don't need to change the session content of other users... so it looks like that accessing the $_SESSION array is what I need, but it doesn't make me feel comfort to see there are not homogeneous path to access the same stuff and I'm wondering if it is a sign I miss something. thanks -- Ivan Sergio Borgonovo http://www.webthatworks.it

user profile category tabs have disappeared

Hi, I'm having trouble displaying the user profile category tabs. I modified a theme and now it's not showing. It doesn't have anything to do with the page template, the block template or the node template. I'm starting to think it might be to do with the css. Any help would be great! Thanks, Sarah

CCK Field to display as HTML in a View

I have a CCK text field (a textarea) which stores HTML, created via TinyMCE. The problem is that when it comes out in my view, Drupal converts the HTML to text so we see the <ul> tag etc. instead of a list. I am using contemplate and print "<div>$field_mytext_value</div>"; how can I get the HTML to come out as HTML and not text? Thanks.

getting $_GET excluding $_GET['q']

I've other parameters in the query string just because I don't want them to be positional. url is something like /blabla/bubu/bibi/?id=stuff I'd like to use: $form['#action'] = url($_GET['q'], drupal_get_destination()); but the id query string part get encoded to %3Fid%3D81152 Is there any other way to avoid positional parameters in query string? or is there a function to obtain the referring url? thx -- Ivan Sergio Borgonovo http://www.webthatworks.it

hunting spurious <p>

Hi, I have a node whose content is html without '<p>', and a theme which does a print $content without adding '<p>'. However, when looking at the generated html I see *two* '<p>' before the content. Of course, they are correctly closed, however it's a bit too much (and not html-compliant) and prevent from adding <p> in the content itself. Does anyone know where does that come from ? Thanks, Xav

sorting highest rated items and displaying image + link

Hi, I cannot seem to get a view working that will display the images that have received the highest vote based on the vote tally of all votes on an image divided by the number of votes that have been cast. I want to display the image and link for the highest-rated images on the site in a block on the front page. Is there any code that has already been written to achive this? If not, do you think it would be better to use a sort algorithm and a few functions to display the appropriate results? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sarah

Hiding exposed filters

Hi, I am using a combination of CCK, Views and Print modules to build a small application. So far everything has worked well. But I can't figure out how to hide the "exposed filters"(the exposed filters form). I generate a page view using the exposed filters. I am using the Print module which generates a printer friendly page. The exposed filters form also appears in the printer friendly page. Is there a way to hide the exposed filters after submitting the form? It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction to fix this issue. -- With warm regards, Sudheer. FAPI and GET or bookmarkable searches

Is there a standard way to keep on using all the goodies of FAPI with GET? Or better... I'd like the result of a custom module searches could be bookmarkable but still being able to validate forms with FAPI. views title strangeness

I'm having a problem with some of my views. The views in question are presenting a list of a certain content type. The problem is that whenever someone submits a new piece of content it prepends the page title in the head with the title of the newest submitted item. So if it's a list of products it becomes "product name products | sitename" instead of simply "products | sitename". I am using the page_title module and have no idea whether this strange behavior is coming from views or that module. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks Sander
