using real path aliases

Hi, I had trouble generating path aliases for nested documents. I am creating a book within my site and I want the pathauto alias to be generated with the path reflecting the chapters, for example I have created a page: example.com/book Now, when I create a subpage of book (e.g. the chapter: introduction) I want it automatically named: example.com/book/introduction when I go there and create a subpage acknowledgments that I appears the alias example.com/book/introduction/acknowledgments and so on, ideally, when I move a page between chapters this would also be updating the path alias. any hints for that? I have installed transliteration and pathauto so far, when I use the pattern for current path: [current-page:url:relative]/[node:title] it creates something like example.com/nodeaddbook/acknowledgments So I used the wrong pattern, it should have been: [node:book:parents:join-path]/[node:title] as replacement pattern, this can be found under the alias settings: /admin/config/search/path/patterns content > book... So this works. Now when I decide to move a page between chapters I have to do it in the edit tab and then move down to change the book outline, if I was going to move the page with the tab "outline" above the page (next to edit) it changed the automatic alias to fixed, so the path alias won't reflect my page move. This behaviour is good for keeping links working. The better solution would be to automatically create a redirect to the new page, so let's see what happens when adding the redirect module here... although I have set the module to add a redirect when url-alias is change this did not affect the automatic change when moving a page. Also the url-alias does not change when I do the move from the outline tab above my book-page.

installing drupal on netgear readynas nvx business edition

Hi, Has anyone ever did this? If so would you be willing to lend me a hand on getting what is required installed? I did look in the ad-ons and I do see a drupal ad-on, but am not sure what else I need to do other then install the ad-on. there are no instructions I could find. Thank you.

Beginner question.

Hello everybody, I am beginner with Drupal and I would like to create a simple CRUD (Create Read Update Delete) application. What is the easiest way to do that? I have database with several tables and I like to create some forms to create, read, update and delete from there. In the other side, I have installed Form Build CRUD and so on but I do not know how this module is use. Thank and sorry for my easy question.

Very disappointed, frustrated and concerned Drupal 7 problem

Ok I thought I had it solved but no. The error occurs Only when I try to create a new Content Type in Drupal 7, both in my local install in /var/www/html and on the remote server, which tends, I feel, to mean it's a fault in my apache system but I do not know where. The strange thing is that no matter what I change the error remains verbatim from both systems: *Fatal error*: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16142054 bytes) in */var/www/html/mysite/includes/database/database.inc* on line *2139* Varying php.ini memory_limit merely changes the (tried to allocate 16142054) up or down a small amount. I have searched through the whole system, /var/log..... and everywhere else for something that sets a limit to 134217728 bytes. I do note that there is no /etc/php5/php.ini in Fedora 18 even though it is mentioned in documentation. This error seems to be all too common, with hundreds experiencing it with php, joomla, Wordpress and Drupal. There's a bug somewhere that's been ignored for years. Thanks Roger

Theme for printing

Hi I am using Mayo theme with an added css for overriding some positions of blocks. I need to create a css for printing a calendar and news items without the Mayo header or footer and only in grey scale. I am comfortable with css and the .info file but have no idea how to call a dedicated print.css when a user wants to print calendar or news item on plain white background. Can someone please advise me. thanks in advance Roger

Very disappointed, frustrated and concerned Drupal 7 problem

For days now I've been trying to overcome a Drupal 7 problem that I cannot explain. Over the past year or two I have followed the same method for creating a copy of our live site to my Fedora 16 pc but as of 4 weeks ago, problems. The Process: -Copy of our live site database as a .sql file made by mysqldump thatdatabase > this file.sql. It has always for me provided a perfect copy of the database. -Zip the whole web site using cPanel. -Download both to my Fedora 16 installation. -Unzip the drupal system to /var/www/html/ -mysql -uuser -ppassword create database (thatdatabase) same name user and password as the original. -mysql -uuser -ppassword thatdatabase < thisfile.sql -Change settings.php a+w then remove the 15 lines in /sites/default/settings.php which access the database. -Start the installation and enter the database name username and password. Drupal copy fires up perfectly every time. ---- But ------ <structure><Content Types><Add content> gives WSOD, defaults to the stark theme with no options. Views, Add Taxonomy, Add content, Rules, Permissions, Appearance, configurations, and others all work, I have done the following: cleared caches, drush cc all, in myslq TRUNCATE cache and TRUNCATEd other cache files as per torials on google. Does anyone know what causes such a problem, what I should look out for to prevent future problems and best of all how to kill the problem once and for all. question about views taxonomy

Is there a way to have it display the description of the vocabulary term? I am using taxonomy menu module and when some one chooses the term on the next page I would like to display its description at the top then the term contents. Can this be done and if so how? If I need a token, could you please give the token as I do not have access to the list of tokens do to an accessability problem. Thank you

authorize.php problem?

I'm running MAMP and VirtualHostX on my MacBook. I have a number of development sites set up that up until now have worked fine. Today when I tried to install a new theme or module after selecting the .gz file I get this URL and but then nothing happens (maybe WSOD?): http://dev.git-test/authorize.php?batch=1&op=start&id=8 I created a fresh install of 7.15 and it all works fine. I can update modules and themes without problem. The problem seems to be the authorize.php script. Any ideas on what I should do to make it work again? Thanks. Warren
