Drupal 6 Vs Drupal 7

Hi Drupal Experts Is there any performance comparision data available between Drupal 6 and Drupal 7. If somebody need to start a developemnt for a big site (involving huge database operations, search engine tika/apachesolr etc), which one is recomonded D6 or D7. Thanks a lot. Austin

Adding a "spinner" to the site??

Hi, Hopefully someone can tell me an easy way to do this.. I have built a web information system for our customers on our site.. Many seem to be using mobile and tablet devices to access it.. Because its slower they are often clicking links many times rather than waiting for a response.. Certain links trigger rules so these rules are getting run repeatedly.. Is there an easy way to add a "spinner" to the site when I link is clicked so they will just wait for it to load the new page? I have seen some CSS spinner generators online but don't know hoe to integrate that to it triggers when a link is clicked while a page is processing.. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks.. PS. I am not really a coder so the more simple the solution the better.. :)

Messed Up Navigation Menu - Multiple "Add Content"s

[ Ubuntu; Drupal-7.15 ] Check out the last few entries in my "Navigation menu": (1) I don't know how I got two extra "Add Content" entries, nor how to remove those two ... (2) How can I get rid of the first (disabled) "Add Content"? I don't really want any "Add Content" entries in the "Nav menu" (I've created a "shortcut" in "admin mode" to add content). Taxonomy, Views and Permissions

So I made View showing Taxonomy terms with the count of how many items in each in a block. There are no access restrictions on the View or the Block. However, unless I have "Bypass content access control" checked it won't display. I feel like I've toggled just about every switch I can. Any ideas why it's not showing for me? If I go to the taxonomy term's URL (following the link that SHOULD be there), the page comes up fine. I have to say, I'm pretty frustrated on this one. Any ideas? Joel

Sites communication

I have several Drupal sites, each one with a different purpose but all of them made for the same organization. But I have a problem since the same user must authenticate himself in every site..., and that is very unconfortable. Is there any module that allows a user puts his/her credentials in a site and then enter to another site using the same credentials?..., in other words, is it possible put all the sites together with the same authenticaton system (eg. local, LDAP, etc.)? Hope you can help me..., thanks...

Help with taxonomies

Hello everybody: I'm working with two taxonomies related to each other, what i need is put them together in a content type as fields, in a such a way when i select one term from the first, in the second one appears those terms related..., for example, i put in one vocabulary names of countries as terms and in the other names of states within those countries, so if i select "USA" in the first, the other shows its 51 states, not all the states in the world... i hope you can help me, thanks anyway

cTools and Panels drupal 7

We have a live site that I've copied over to my home pc with the idea to overwrite the current theming with Panels and Panels Everywhere so that regions can have their own look and feel. As of today, September 10 2012, has any one found a fix/patch for /Notice/: Undefined property: ctools_context::$placeholder in /ctools_context_replace_form()/ (line /1305 /when trying to set up panels. I've tried Precision, AT, Garland or Bartik//themes. Google shows the problem has existed for a long long time and does not seem theme related. Thanks in advance Roger

last call for feed help Please

I am still trying to get my feeds to work, wile you can see the titles, the enclosure is not seen, plus lots of errors in the feed.
