You shouldn't have any problems. Just do a yum remove of PHP and it will give a list of everything that will be affected. You can verify any problems before proceeding.

    First, I recommend going with PHP 5.3. There are a lot of
    contrib modules that still have problems in 5.4. 5.3 is what
    comes with CentOS 6, and installs without a problem, including

    Also Remi's repository is always a nightmare. You are seeing
