Hello, I'm a new user of drupal and I need to build one really simple web site. It should have one menu with 4 links, one header, one footer and The other div of the homepage should contain some basic information. Can you advice me what is the simplest theme to do this? And above all can you give me the main steps that I should do to creat this simple page? I'm sorry for this simple question but I miss this information. Thanks in advance Best regards, Sauro
Once you install your site, you can create your content and do all your configurations.
For the menu, go to administer / site building / menus
For what goes in the header and footer, administer /site configuration / site information
For the page itself, go to create content / page
For themes, in the themes administration area, you can choose from the several themes that come pre-installed. Just select one and see how you like it. For "really simple," any one of them could do.

Do you plan to have dynamic content in this simple website? If not, then you may be better served just using straight HTML/CSS and avoiding CMS systems entirely. The only sites I have running on Drupal are the ones which have content that changes at least a couple times a year. Less than that and the time you would have to spend updating software and modules would likely be more than the time it would take to modify your HTML.

Hi all, The contents will change many times and I should even permit one user to modify them. Anyway,I solved basic problems that I posted before but now I have another prolbem. I have to put one logo in the header. I tried to to that modifying the default and active theme but The logo image doesn't appear. What could be the reason? Thanks again for every answer. Best regards, Sauro

I think it's a CSS stuff, try using some hacks on style.css to insert your logo
what's your theme?
The theme that I'm using is garland.

I've seen a lot of mishap with this theme in my client environments. It stretches the limits of IE and Mozilla.

Make sure that the permissions of the file are set to allow the server to think it should permissively display the image. Make sure the Drupal admin switches are set. Make sure that your cache data is refreshed.

Hi, What theme would you recommend me to use? A question out of curiosity. /Krister

I don't really have a recommedation. I use Kubrick on for-my-kids.com but I'm checking out others. If you want simple, B7 is nice. Take a look at http://drupal.org/project/Themes for a complete list.
