Could be a version problem - did you download the version of Paypal module which corresponds to Drupal 4.6.3?

Thanks for the response.
Sorry, my version is 4.6.3 and php version is 5.0.4
I get no other error messages. Enabling print to screen produces the same error message as is found in the log. No further details.
Thanks again

Good troubleshooting... are there any further warnings or error messages that this module generates? You might try temporarily enabling printing error messages to the screen - make sure that the maximum level of error reporting is enabled in your PHP setup.
By the way, by 'latest version of Drupal', do youmean 4.6.3, or CVS? Also, what version of PHP is your site running on?

The problem exists within the Paypal Subscriptions module. Disabling that takes the problem away. Unfortunately this module is vital to me, does anyone have any ideas, or alternative modules that could be used to assign a role on receipt of payment from paypal?
Thanks again

Both paypal framework and subscription are versions 4.6.0
These were the latest versions available.
I should add that I had not yet configured any of the subscription plans or paypal details, but I would be surprised if that would make a difference such as this.

I have a site I am building for my wife that uses Drupal 4.6.3, and the 4.6.0 versions of both the PayPal Framework and the PayPal Subscription modules. I have both modules installed and enabled, but not configured. I am not experiencing the same problem as you. Maybe it is the interaction of the PayPal Subscriptions module w/some other module? I do also have installed and enabled, but not configured the following modules: Amazon associate tools, Amazon items, Amazon search, Banner, E-Commerce, E-Publish, and Theme Editor.
