The page contains a list of teasers for the nodes that belongs to that term.
My problem is that I would like to customize this page in to respects.
1) I would like to affect the way each node is presented. I don’t want the heading to be h2 and I don’t want a “read more” link as it is already possible to click the heading.
2) My biggest concern though, is that all nodes in that term are listed. I would only like those that are sorted directly under that term in the menu tree to be listed. Is there a way of deciding which nodes will be shown?
3) I would like to have an introductory description of the term. Unfortunately there is no room for a text meant for publishing in the term page, only a description. Can this be made to show up on the term page?
Grateful for any advice!

You can do this by editing the node.tpl.php file in your theme (assuming you are using a phpTemplate-powered theme, which is the default for Drupal 4.7).

Look at the views module. You can create custom displays of content.

The views module provides for html text you put above and below the display. Or you can look at the taxonomy context module.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the good advice, Laura! The 1st point was easy to do. The rest seems like very good advice as well. Unfortunately I'm stuck with using taxonomy context though as I can't make the description show up, maybe because of a problem with that module.
http://drupal.org/node/37690 also has a description of this problem. I have tried different themes including bluemarine and putting in the code suggested in the last comment, but to no avail. The description simply won't show up. I now has all options set to enable, but can't see a thing happening. Any one else who is using taxonomy context? Sten
