hi,
I've setup a drupal 7.12 on a Debian squeeze box and I have a strange issue. I log on the drupal site with no problem with any browser on a linux and mac OS X box. But I can't log on with any browser on a windows os. Each time I enter the login / password, the system don't logon with no errors at all, Just displaying the home page again.
Any ideas.
Olivier.

I only use a Windows client. Try
1) Clear the browser cookies 2) Clear the caches via admin/config/development/performance
HTH,
I've just tried, no luck, I can't log on even after flushing caches.

I should have remembered to also suggest emptying the sessions table.
Try using a different browser and see if that changes anything.

anyone know of a drupal 7 module that would let me revise and track file attachments as well as the field content?
Thanks. -Don-

The specific computer seems to be having some issues, from the sounds of it. Reinstall Windows? Test the internet settings, firewall settings, etc. Find a computer that works and try to compare. Cookies don't seem to be working with that machine, so that's where I'd start troubleshooting. Narrow down the problem... Can you log into other sites? Do other computers on the network work?
Good luck!
Joel

I've tried with three different computers, one is a fresh windows XP install and no luck. I've tried to tweak cookies's options to accept all. I've tried on windows XP and 2008, no luck. I'm really stuck here.
Thanks for your help.

Three computers on different networks? Perhaps your IT team has a 'no cookies on Windows machines' policy? Otherwise maybe your server is preventing Windows machines from receiving the correct session info. It sounds like there's some sort of user agent test on the server if it's on every Windows machine across the world. Maybe there's some tracking program on the server that's gone bonkers. Or maybe you've got some malicious software running. If it's every Windows machine everywhere, then it's got to be the server/code. If other sites are working correctly from the same server, it's got to be the code.

Le'ts start looking at your Drupal system, especially contributed themes and modules. Do you have any installed that adjust the user and/or the profile? If you're using a non core theme try switching to a core theme to see if it resolves the issue. Start disabling the contrib modules to determine if that helps the issue. Be sure to clear the caches between each step.
I tried to disabling all the contributed modules and the theme, flushing the caches. No luck. Still stuck and searching. thanks for your help.

This sounds like an issue where you have $cookie_domain set in settings.php but are accessing the site via a different domain. Make sure that cookie domain is set correctly and that you are using the exact same domain to access it via Windows.
