How do I integrate Drupal forums with a mailing list? in order to allow users to participate in discussions in two ways: By email and in online forums these 2 must be integrated and must work together. One could choose to post by email or on the online forum and responses should be distributed both by email and on the online forum, giving every user choice on what method best suits his work style.

og2list did this but it was not ported past 4.x, are there any other alternatives? Is this possible, if so how?
