I'm presently considering using drupal (4.7) for a new project. The idea is to have a hierarchy of sub-sites, all managed by a single drupal installation, with a well-designed taxonomy. Is it possible to let drupal serve sub-site-specific styles, as well as blocks (menus) ?

I expect sub-sites to be maintained by different groupes of people, and so I want to let them design their own website layout / styling, with a minimum of constraints to still be able to cross-link and navigate across the whole site.

I'd appreciate any pointers.
