I would like to replace the "Read More" text with an image. I have installed the string overrides module to no avail. Not being a css guru I am not sure if I can do it that way. Right now I am getting the background image, which I want, *and* the text, which I don't want. Thanks
In settings.php: $conf['locale_custom_strings_en'] = array('Read More' => '');
But you might be able to hide the text even while applying the background image.

Thanks. Just what I was thinking but, as said, I am no css guru.
tony mac is building web sites.

Thanks Earnie, In the course of my research I saw this module but does it facilitate squelching the text itself? Have you used it? Thanks Tony

I've used ed_readmore. I don't have a D7 site up as yet. I basically used it to theme the text but you should be able to use it to at least provide yourself an example of what can be done.
Text can be themed but not edited. Thanks.... am now deep into views. This video, though maybe outdated, is a good resource for others who might need: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MSr3UnRkPI
