Hello there,
i am new to drupal... I have defined some menus and submenus but i dont know how to add content to these links
Searching the HowTo's is and was off target: i dont know what to search for - hmmm
Maybe one can help me
TIA Torsten
Hi,
oh I need one week to understand this
You need first the content (text). This content is a "node" and has a specific number. If this text has the node number 2 than write for the menu item /node/2.
But first (before you write content) you should enable a category by writing a vocabulary.
ItŽs a bit tricky and there is no German explanation....
Have fun.

that is was i thought: so when i create a menu entry named "downloads" and touch a file named "index.php" with some stuff in it i expect it to be available under https://www.flammiger.org/content/downloads - but it isn't

hmm, dont know what you mean... I have content from my old page...

not a problem - my english is of course bad :-)
Have fun.
i will have some, i think...
Albrecht
Thanks Torsten
Create a vocabulary (Categories) then when you create a page (create content page) you can select with category it belongs to.
Read about taxonomy and look at some other sites. Try http://inmr.com
Look at the page titles if your concerned about S.E.O
Good Luck Ron

I never have been able to get Crontab to work to update news feeds in Drupal. I tried dozens of commands, changed permissions, etc. and my hosting company did a reinstall to be sure there was not a bug. I tried using WebCron.Org which works on one site but does not seem to work well on another.
Does anyone know of any alternative way to do this such as using some type of spidering script?
Rob
did you try to see what error you get when you run it from the command line:
bash$: php cron.php

Of the dozens of commands we have tried the most common seems to be No such file or directory

Try the poormanscron module. It runs cron jobs at the end of a page request if they need to be, all from the PHP/Apache process. Probably not as efficient as real cron, but works well for me.

you can cause the cron.php file to run from any machine, not just the server that the site is on. For some of my sites, I use a curl command that executes on my Mac, where it is very easy to set up cron jobs using something like Macaroni (a cron front end) or just cron from the command line.

If you just want to test if it works http://your.site.name/cron.php works (at least for me). Then you will get a message on top of your postings reporting what happend.
