I am getting a number of requests to create a new account on a site not yet ready.
The requests are obviously false and seem to be testing the system. I delete the emails on reception.
It seems that the attacks area automated, is there any way to filter and reject these automatically. Thanks Roger

Disable the ability of people to sign up to the site under development instead of making signup with admin approval.

And look into the antispam modules, because this will continue when the site becomes live.
Personally, I dislike capchas and more often enough they drive me away from sites. However, a field that looks like it needs to be filled in to a computer but is invisible to humans is said to be effecting.
