Hi,
Does anyone know of a gallery solution for Drupal 7 that has the ability to restrict access to specific roles and to upload images in bulk?
At the moment I have to create 2 galleries a month with about 60 - 80 images per gallery.. Doing it an image at a time would take far too long..
I have looked are "Brilliant Gallery" but it just threw out lots of errors and "fast_gallery" has no access control.. Everything else seems to want you to load photos one at a time..
Alternatively is there are way to use Drupal user accounts for a form of basic authentication so I could just get a basic one page page php galley script and allow access to valid Drupal users using .htaccess directives?
TIA
For the gallery I suggest http://drupal.org/project/media_gallerytogether with http://drupal.org/project/plupload. That should take care of the gallery and multiple file upload problems. I have never tried to restrict access to it, so I'll leave that to you. Nancy Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. -- Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.

I second the media_gallery & plupload. Thanks for introducing us to them previously Nancy. :)
Aside though, here's a couple of tutorials for rolling your own gallery:

If you haven't come across tutorialzine.com before, do yourselves a favor. There's some wicked cool stuff in there.

Thanks for all the replies.. Will give media_gallery a spin now and see if
it does what I need..

LOVE IT!!.. Media_gallery is brilliant.. Has a few quirks and lots of dependencies but easily the best solution out there if you can work through it..
Thanks!!
Hello,
I have the latest version of views for Drupal 7 on my site. I am not seeing how to find the arguments setting. I need this because the calendar is keying on when the event of type date was saved or updated and not on the date field.
Thanks,
Bruce

As of last week this was broken, the page view wouldn't use event date but the Upcoming block worked OK so I'm just using it for now. Using dev versions for calendar, views, ctools.

I first tried Gallery2 with the Drupal related module. It seemed very powerful, but was relatively difficult to configure, and I had difficulty moving from server to server.
So I just moved to ZenPhoto. It does not have drupal integration, but I just edited its style.css to for some consistency with the main drupal site, and then added a menu link to it. The menu link trick is listed somewhere on the net (edit includes/menu.inc temporarily to set the link, and then un-edit it back). Works well, and transfers across servers works well too.
I think it would work for your specific requirements but you will have to check it out. And I am on D6 but that should not matter.
