the menu_per_role don't function fine to me. A solutions that I need to do was create a menu for each role.

Can you explain why ?
M.
Michel,
When I try to use menu_per_role, some abnormal behavior start appear. I set one item for a role and it appear for other role not for that I has assigned. I try to recalculate the permissions of my content, clean the menu cache, rebuild the menus, etc... Not of these resolved my problems. I believe that content_access and menu_per_role is a powerful combination but for my case wasn't work.
Att,
Pablo
I had the same problem when I start with this module.
You need to configure for which role the menu entry is visible and which not (at the bottom of the access rule).

Hi Florent,
I try that to. I try to set the default permissions for the entire menu and after that set some specifics constraints for some items. But I didn't has success too.

Hello, I use menu per role and all is really ok. I read somewhere that in d6 you can show menù itmes to a particular roles, simply giving access to it to that role. Anyway, since I come from d5, I still use menu per role and all works as expected.

Presumably you also want to restrict access to the node itself which is labelled as foo and bar, not only not show menu entries. From your original mail it also appears that you do not want to have separate menus, so I suggest to use
http://drupal.org/project/content_access
http://drupal.org/project/content_access I should hide menu entries to nodes on role basis.

I have used node_privacy_byrole, but thanks for the suggestion.
