Hi, I am using the public download counter module and I can not send the links to people with in emails, the links break, any suggestions, here is what the links look like that I am sending out:
Sure wish this could be as a action and trigger, but it don't work either: tokens will not expand.
Is there any way to alias this to be shorter and easier so the links will not get split in email?

You may need to roll your own shortener, though:

I tested one of your links at http://bit.ly/pPB45l and it removed the second http://

If you are using the Google Analytics module it has support to log events of when users click on file downloads.

I will look in to this as the public file count module works ok, but it does make for long urls and many places do not like urls with vars=http://otherurls.

I have installed and configured this module. I am not seeing any reference to my file links being clicked on, they are just showing my front page. I do have to tracking file downloads and It has the mp(expression) and zip extentions. Am I missing something here? I'm just seeing top 5 pages and stuff, how can I get it to show me more details?
I am using the Google Analytics report to view the information.

Custom events are being tracked via googleanalytics.js, see http://is.gd/t5HeYR
In Google Analytics, select "Content" then "Event tracking." https://skitch.com/c4rl/f597m/ga

Wow!
I'd been working with an outbound javascript that I placed in the link for outbound tracking.
I noticed that it wasn't working lately, but can see the data recorded now under the Events.
Thank you.
