Using Drupal 7. Mayo theme. On the eckankar.org.au front page I have a number of blocks in the centre of the page and in each sidebar, each with info and an image. As admin I can alter the content and position of each block. Been using Drupal for many years but the below has me puzzled.
Is there any way to: -- give a specialised user with Role of MainEditor permissions to enter/change info in blocks on a front page? -- let MainEditor alter block positions with a Weight number? -- make articles stay in a predetermined order, not display as 'latest to top of page'?
I also have empty blocks positioned via the Blocks List at the top of Content section and in the Highlighted. I can edit the block info as admin but not as Editor. If I put an article or page in the block it displays at the bottom of the front page. If I enter info it stays at the top. See the block with the orange and yellow flowers as an example. Perplexing!
Maybe I have to rethink the whole theme and make it more like news.com.au displaying block stuff in small blocks which alter position depending on latest entries and link to individual pages.... hmmmm food for thought!
Does anyone have suggestions or hints on how would be a good way to handle this.
Thank you for any help Roger
