Maybe you could explain better what you mean by getting the events into the calendar. I have two 4.6.6 sites where I use nodes (one uses the basicevent, the other uses an event enabled flexinode) and they both show up in the calendar.

If I understand you right (and that's pretty hard to do with the level of detail you're providing) your flexinode seems to not be setup correctly. It has been quite a while since I set it up, so the details are fuzzy, but on the site I did it on, there are 18 items that I could add to a content type.

oh boy, i got one:
flexinode
Image processing Default thumbnail resolution: Default size of thumbnails: format will be the same as original image. Use just one dimension, and put a "x" to specify height. Examples: "100" for width of 100; "x200" for height of 200. Imagemagick Convert path: Absolute path to ImageMagick convert executable. Include the filename at the end.
and that is it !

using drupal-cvs, event-cvs: when i choose create content, the submit event form has the start and end time, Title and Body, but the rest does not show up as below, just the headers. i cut and pasted the headers and how the forms showed up is beyond me.

ps the same sort of lines from Administer->settings work just fine...
also i just applied the event.modules.52481.patch by hand as it was broken and fixed the losing an hour when in 12 hr mode problem. seems funny that a both the 4.7.0 and the new cvs version would still be broken. here is the patch i used: --- event.module.old 2006-03-25 13:14:46.000000000 -0800 +++ event.module 2006-03-25 13:11:22.000000000 -0800 @@ -1368,7 +1368,11 @@ // ...hours if (variable_get('event_ampm', '0')) { $hour_format = t('g'); - $hours = range(1, 12); + + $first_hour = 1; + $last_hour = 12; + for ($i = $first_hour; $i <= $last_hour; $i++) $hours[$i] = $i; + $am_pms = array('am' => t('am'), 'pm' => t('pm')); } else {
so in conclusion, what i am asking is what controls the output of http://site.com/node/add/event as the other pages such as create content-> page, blog, poll all have working hyperlinks for such things as Authoring information, Publishing options, File attachments, Menu settings...

This really depends on your setup, but if you are using basicevent to create that page then it is controlled by the event.module.
I would recommend that you stick to the 4.6 versions of modules because, as you are finding, 4.7 and cvs sometimes don't work exactly correctly. Unless you can & want to dig in and find problems, 4.6 is the place to be.

as a lark in installed event-4.7.0 and 2 of the links came up. since the links work for other catagories under create content I am inclined to find out what the difference is. i guess i will have to look into how the blog entry, book page, forum topic, page, polls, story differs from event-cvs, event-4.7.0 and event-4.6.0

my bad i should have said event-4.6.0 brought up 2 of the hypertext links
