Hey, I am looking into a file download tool, I would love it to have the ability to read a complete directory tree and be able to restrict download access to members or a specific Role. An upload facility in the front-end would also be wonderful. As would be the possibility to add rating to files (these are going to be mostly .pdf files but might also be .ppt etc in a university setting.
What is a good module to use for that purpose with drupal 7 any suggestions?
I don't know of any that do all those things specifically. You can build a site easily enough that does all of those things in pieces, though. IMCE has directory trees that has granular control, uploading can use several options, IMCE can kinda do that, too, but I'd use FileField. Rating files can be done using Fivestar.
