I was answering a question on a LinkedIn group and went to D.O to check the Input format description. At the bottom, it says "Only images hosted on this site may be used in <img> tags. Others are replaced with an error icon." Does anyone know if that filter code is available, preferably as a contrib?

I don't think there is. but it would not be that hard to write a filter. A little regexp to find the <IMG> and then check the src. You might be able to actually do the whole thing as a preg_replace(), given you know all possible names for the current went site.
