dear list,
as there was no reply for my last issue i posted i hope i do not ask too-easy-to-solve-on-your-own-issues..because -at least to me- it seems i cannot find very much about this:
after i put the project of the views-installation in a future-holding-queue, i thought, all other modules would install without any problems, but then i found the pathauto-module and tried to install, but it didn't work, too - it depends on the token-module, but if i copy the token-folder in sites/all/modules, there is no entry in /admin/build/modules, and when i set the status of all two token-entries in phpmyadmin to 1, there is no chance to get in /admin/build/modules again..
i must admit that i really deleted a lot of folders of modules (especially views and the image-modules) and copied them in again and again, did some update.phps with and without success, but that was because views wouldn't install and so i don't think views doesn't install because i deleted it often..
so, to put it in a few words:
what could be the reason, my drupal-install doesn't like all modules (yes, they are the right ones for 6.6) and how can i change this?
thank you for reading and
regards :-jo

Von: jo joinkemel@yahoo.de Betreff: unable to install views properly An: support@drupal.org Datum: Samstag, 6. Dezember 2008, 14:30 hello again,
next problem, next chance :-)
i had now a dozen tries to install and deinstall the views-module in drupal 6.6 with many different ways - just deleting the folder (maybe not that good..), deactivating it and deleting the folder, removing it in the databse, installing it again and deinstall it with the deinstalltion-routine in the modules-area -
but everytime i end up with these problems:
- activating the views-module hangs indefinitly at
"import of the surface-translation" <--(which is a direct translation from german to english, i don't know how this is called in the original english-surface)
refreshing the site brings me back to the homepage and i have to log-in again. the views-module is now activated, but it is impossible to activate views_UI: trying it with /admin/build/modules says "site not reachable" and doesn't activate it, and when i activate it with phpmyadmin, i am no longer possible to reach /admin/build/modules..
any ideas?

I think we're just too dumbfounded with your actions. My guess is that you need to create a backup of the data, install a fresh Drupal and import your data to resolve your issues.
