From a rank beginner, I just installed D7, uploaded some new modules, and am
now getting this error, no matter what I try to do, from running update.php, to clicking the Configuration link. I get logged in OK.
PDOException: SQLSTATE[42S02]:
Base table or view not found:

It seems a table is missing. How do I create that? Via PHPMyAdmin?
Thanks,
John
Something failed to install. You don't want to use PHPMyAdmin but instead, go to admin/modules, disable the update module, then go to the Uninstall tab and uninstall the update module. It doesn't delete the module but resets it so that the system now thinks it isn't installed. Once that is complete go back to admin/modules and enable the module. It will install the tables it needs.

Thanks Earnie. How do I get to admin/modules? Any link across the top results in the error, except for the "Hello Admin" link.

If you're comfortable using phpmyadmin you can set that module's status and boot status's to 0. Then you should be able to go in and uninstall it and reinstall. are you sure there's no update.php cycles you forgot to run?

If you have just done your initial install.
1. Use phpMyAdmin to drop all the tables in the database. 2. Go into sites/default and delete settings.php 3. Goto www.YourSiteURL.com and run the install again
If there has been nothing done or added to your site, you will not loose anything and save a lot of frustration.
When you start activating modules, the first one should be backup and migrate. After you activate it, do a backup of the database. You will be able to get there by going to: admin/config/system/backup_migrate Then activate your other modules two or three at a time with a backup in between. This way you can figure out which one caused this problem. The backups are so you can go back to before the problem module messed up the DB and you wont have to go through this all over again.
Hope this helps,
Cory
I get the error when I run update.php
