Hi,
I need to make a horisontal main menu that is expandable on click. Kinda like the one they use on flickr for example - you know: a list of menu items with a little arrow, and when you click it, the item reveals the sublinks.
Sounds very simple, but I've been trying for a few days now to incorporate all kinds of scripts into drupal, but without luck.
Could some kind soul pleeeease help me with a few pointers?
thanks for listening!
cheers Morten
Have you tried "Simplemenu" ? This menu-module are expandable on mouseover. If you need it clickable maybe you can try to make some new code.

Hi there. Try http://www.drupal.org/project/dhtmlmenu, i think the url is correct. I don't know if you get a horisontal menu, can't see it myself, blind as i am but what i know for a fact is that if you click a menu item when a menu is closed it opens up to reveal its sub menus without refreshing the page. The module in question is called dhtmlmenu. Hope this helps. /Krister

Krister and Ole, thanks for your replies,
I already tried simplemenu, but I think it is more useful for admin-menus, although one might be able to customize it for normal sitemenus.
DHTML-menu looks really close to what I need, although I still have to figure out how to hack it to make it horizontal. If anyone knows how, I would love to hear from you.
There seems to be some disagreements as to which menu is more accessible - dhtml-menu or nice-menus. Sadly, I wasn't able to get nice-menus to work with on-click behaviour.
Krister, I'm curious - you are recommending dhtml-menu. Does it work well with screen-readers, which I am guessing you are using? Accessibility is a great concern for me.
thanks again! Morten
thanks, very "helpful". I do know css.
If you would take a look at the issue-pages for the dhtml-menu, you'll see that things are not that simple.
Anyway, I have actually managed to make the menu horizontal, which did require a bit more than common css knowledge. The module needed a bit of tweaking to get the desired look and functionality. When I'm satisfied with my menu and it has been tested for accessibility, I'll be happy to help people out if they should need to achieve similar things. And don't worry, I won't reply with a simple "learn css"... ;)
