I posted http://drupal.org/node/19606 this and am wondering if anyone can give me hints. It seems pretty obvious that the DB is out of sync. I'm not surprised because I tried using OG with Node Privacy ByRole and that didn't work at all. But now I need to know if this is fixible or if I need to start from scratch. Any help appreciated.

Hi Dan,
I tried that as well and had all sorts of issues. The best thing for me was to use the Taxonomy Access module instead of the Privacy By Role module, and create a unique taxonomy for each group. It was much less confusing, and has worked great for me so far.

Hmmm... thanks for pointing me at Taxonomy Access. Is there a comprehensive write up on "Drupal Permissioning"? Besides the basic drupal docs? It seems like this is a fruitful area for additional doco - It seems like fine grained permmissions are the first thing that clients ask about.
Also, my question was not so much about how to add additional permissions on top of OG but how to fix the mess that I've found myself in.
