The only thing we had to do differently was to make sure that the config file pointed at the database server, rather than localhost. I make changes to files (style sheets, templates, settings.php, etc.) on our master server, which then replicates everything out to the other servers. All of this is behind some fancy-shmancy load balancer (Alteon, I think); the only problems we've ever had is when one of the servers goes kablooey and stops accepting updated files for one reason or another, and that's hardly Drupal's fault! [drupal-support] To INNODB or not to INNODB

Hi, I am in the process of setting up a web site for a client, which has ecommerce and a few other modules. Now my hosting company has just given me the option of using INNODB for the MySQL backend. I know that this speeds you up in some areas, and adds better data integrity. Should I use it, or should I stick with the MyISAM databases, esp. since this is a E-Commerce site. Thanks, Gordon.

[drupal-support] Member since the dawn of modern computing

Hi, In my new Drupal installation, my master user is reported as being a member for 35 years and 41 weeks. Little does the computer realize I am not even that old. I realize that the creation timestamp for the user must be 0 which indicates New Years Day, 1970 and fortunately, all the rest of the timestamps in the installation appear to be okay. Hi, I see from the list that one Gabriele Caniglia reported this same problem back in June. I just created a new Drupal v4.6.3 installation using Fantastico. I seem to be creating content just fine. But when I first create a story I see these errors on the top of the webpage: warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/melanson/public_html/trash/modules/node.module on line 1314. warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/melanson/public_html/trash/modules/node.module on line 1315. warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/melanson/public_html/trash/modules/node.module on line 1316. warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/melanson/public_html/trash/modules/node.module on line 1317. warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/melanson/public_html/trash/modules/node.module on line 1318. This did not happen before I started playing with the categories/taxonomy. Come to think of it, I created 3 vocabularies and then realized that I needed 1 vocabulary and deleted the other 2. Due to the fact that all sessionid's are stored in the database, the webserver(s) are stateless. so it is rather easy to do multiple frontends and one backe(cluser)server database. in fact, zattevrienden.be runs this way and I am sure that more high volume drupal sites do it this way. It is even possible to do it on DNS base instead with a expensive hardware loadbalancer. however, you wont devide the load, maybe share the load on the frontends I made a picture fro drupal.org sometime ago for a propossed infrastructure setu , however my image module is br0ken in a bad way, so no url, i'm sorry. Drupal.org itself will run on multiple frontends with one backend server in due time (all stuff is installed, just not active). you just have to make sure that you have a common disk space for the configuration files of the webserver and static content like uploaded pictures. this can be a nfs share or a nas. you dont need special setups for drupal or apache, it will work, make a connection to 10.1.2.3 instead of 127.0.0.1 in the config file of drupaql, thats all. a cheap hardware loadbalancer (hint ebay) is prefered though. in case you go this way, please add your setup and experiences to drupal.org (either by a mailinglist or a posting), so we can add that to the handbook!

Hi, sorry, if this may be a FAQ, but at least a search for "load balancing" or "cluster" on this list did not produce meaningful hits. We have a system, which is currently running on a single Apache server with a database. [drupal-support] Uploading files to the audio module.

Hi. I'm trying out the audio module. Is there a way to supply an mp3 file that is already on the server file system rather than uploading via http post? [drupal-support] private but unprotected blogs

Hope this isn't a faq but I haven't found a solution yet. I have one site that I'm using for a college class and the whole site is supposed to be private, that is, for class use only. I thought that would simply be a matter of giving anonymous users *no* privileges in 'access control' and for the most part, that seems to work. Anonymous users get 403s wherever they go *except* if they type the path to a user's blog. For any path 'http://site.org/blog/x' the blog teasers and links display just fine! If they click on a link, they get 403ed, but since anon users don't have content access privileges, this seems weird to me that they can see the titles and teasers for blogs. I've gotten the same result on drupal 4.6.3 and civicspace 0.8.1.3 sites. Is there a config option I've missed? Thanks! --Eric Crump
