Hi Alex,
I have had no stability problems with either versions of Drupal. Also, security would be equally good in either versions, as security updates for both versions are released simultaneously if a security flaw is present in both versions.

Hi there.
I'm in the process of setting up my first drupal site. I'm plunging
through the manual. So far I'm very impressed.
I'm wondering whether I should go with 4.5.x or 4.6.x?
In this project stability and security are more important than having
a gazillion features.

Larry,
I haven't installed the banner module, and therefore can't check for you unless I install it. Simply spoken, you'd have to edit the source code of the banner, search for and remove it from the code.
I also urge you to send your reports to the support list and not to me in person, as this one landed up in my spam filter. I have exclusions in place for the Drupal lists (by means of subject scanning), and furthermore, there are people who might see your question and help you before I can get around to do it.

If I'm reading a Slashdot article and click a link halfway down a very long page
and get taken to another site. After I'm done reading the current
page, I hit the back button. The last page loads, momentarily shows
the top of the page, and then magically repositions the page to the
location where I clicked the link.
How is this done? I think the browser does this for you. But then
why doesn't it happen with Drupal? Maybe the clean urls are
preventing this from happening? Has anyone explored ways to get this
behavior to work with Drupal?
I know I can shift click to avoid the problem of losing my place but I
don't always remember to do that. It's frustrating to have to scroll
down and find my place again, especially in a long thread.
Thanks.

I'm having a very strange problem with my feeds. I have 3 total. The
first one updates fine. The other two don't update at all (one of
them is Slashdot---http://slashdot.org/slashdot.rdf---which I know
probably works).
When I click "update items", I don't get any error. But the "last
update" and "next update" say "never" and zero items show. Both urls
are fully qualified.
How is it that 1 feed can get updated fine while the others do not?

Problem solved: I simply moved the code that dealt with the static
variable from the aggregator_page_item.tpl.php file into the
phptemplate_aggregator_page_item() function in the template.php file.

I've overridden the aggregator_page_item function, responsible for
displaying rss items on the /aggregator page. I overrode using the
phptemplate theme.
The function uses a static variable called $last. But apparently, the
act of overriding the theme function renders static variables useless.
The $last variable gets reset every time the function is called.
Anyone know how I can get around this?
