Highlighting the blog author's comments in a blog

It's becoming more common for blogs to have their author's comments highlighted in the comments after a post (I was reminded of this while viewing Brian Jones's blog on Open XML - see http://blogs.msdn.com/brian_jones/archive/2007/01/19/passing-the-openxml-st… for an example). How can I do this in Drupal? My guess is that is requires some PHP in template.php plus an extra bit of css but I'm not sure of the best way to get this done. Thanks in advance, Tim

Ending support thread

This is sort of a meta-support question, but this seemed the best place to ask it. :-) I periodically respond to support items in the issue queue. As an issue, it can and should have its status set to "fixed" when the issue has been resolved, one way or another. Who decides when it's resolved, though? Should I set a support issue to fixed when I feel I've answered the question? Should I wait for the questioner to close it himself? Close it for him after he posts a "thanks that worked" post (which often doesn't happen)? Should a support ticket be a special case that auto-closes after X days of no activity? Judging by the fact that magico recently went through and closed dozens, possibly over a hundred, stale issue queues, it seems that whatever should be done isn't. choosing parent item

Hi there, I'm new to Drupal, so this question might be quite silly: I thought that editing an article, I could control where it is displayed by choosing the right parent item... which I did. But my definition of the parent item gets set back to 'Navigation', and 'Page not found' is displayed when clicking where it should be... Thank you very much in advance! Martin

Problem with 4.7.5 Clean URLs

One of my websites, w8pgw.org, was running on a fairly old version of Drupal, so when I saw that 5.0 had just been released, I thought now's the time to upgrade. Since it was recommended that I upgrade to the latest 4.x version, I downloaded and installed 4.7.5. I got everything working, EXCEPT "clean URLs," which were working in the last installation. With clean URLs enabled, funny things happen. The home page looks fine, but when I click on a "read more" link, the formatting goes away. For example, with clean URLs disabled, http:// www.w8pgw.org/node/83 looks fine, but with clean URLs enabled, the page doesn't seem to be picking up the theme. Another odd thing is that when I run the clean URL test, it seems to pass the test fine, but when the settings admin page reloads, it's also lost the theme. Any ideas? How to choose different input formats when using tinymce?

Hello, I've got a site that I upgraded from 4.7.4 to 5.0. I also upgraded tinyMCE with it. I noticed that Tiny MCE makes the input formats ineffective. For example, if I choose 'php code' from the input formats when posting a new page, instead of parsing the php code, it just displays it. It does the same thing no matter which input format I choose. Any ideas what may be wrong? - jody

Tinymce problems with 5.0

Hello, After upgrading to Drupal 5.0 and reinstalling the Tinymce module, I just cannot get it to appear no matter what I do. It appears checked under the list of modules, and the basic settings are there, but there seems to be no option to add roles like there was before. And so i can't get the actual editor to appear. I checked all the permissions, and I followed the instructions exactly, installing it in under the sites/all/modules folder, and including the library in the "Includes" folder. I've tried reinstalling it but this doesn't help, and I'm only using a default theme at the moment. Any ideas what may be wrong? - jody

If I go to www.w8pgw.org/node/83, I see that you have /node in all your css links. If I go to one of those I'm served html, not css. Pat

Greg's got it and I'd also point out that panels also provide some additional functionality that may cut down on the number of blocks that you have: * You can add an individual piece of content (node) to a panel without having to make a block out of it. * You can rename (retitle) an existing block. (e.g. random image) easily with a panel. Basically if I wanted blocks to appear across the the site, or be configurable by the user (e.g. hidden unless user says so) I'd do them in themes. If I wanted to make an entry or home page that had some blocks on it that didn't appear on other pages on the site, I'd use panels.
