Yes, via a couple of ways. First I'd recommend that you examine the Panels module which can be used to place blocks on a page with a variety of layouts. It's probably the easiest way to get a "boxes" look that you're talking about. Also I'd recommend you look at one of the themes that supports custom theme regions, and model your new theme after that. You can make your own regions in which you can place blocks. This way will require some knowledge of theme development and the customization of php code within the theme. Layout question

Hello, At the top of the Drupal site there are several colored boxes that are always on the top of the main page. I would like to implement several boxes like this on my site, but the contents of these boxes would be driven off separate modules which pull their data from various database tables. Hi, Drupal has just been added to Update-Scout.com, an interactive web service, that informs its users about software updates and releases. Users can set up personal update news feeds from the Update-Scout software catalog and even add new entries to the catalog. The address is http://www.update-scout.com . The current version number is retrieved from http://drupal.org/. If there is a better possibility to automatically check for the version number (e.g. PAD file; any http/ftp request plus regex is possible), we would be grateful for this information. Here's a couple of wild ideas for debugging: 1. Verify that there isn't a problem with your theme by enabling and switching to the blue marine theme. I've had some pretty flakey things happen when I had themes adding java script to the tinymce theme. 2. Verify that your theme's CSS isn't the problem by also setting tinymce to use the tinymce css file by default. back button refresh behaviour configurable?

Hi, Have been meaning to ask this for ages. If possible I'd like to stop drupal from refreshing the page when the back button is pressed. This is for two reasons - so that form input isn't lost if people review previous pages when posting comments, and to save server load and time for the additional page requests. Two questions: 1. Could someone lead me towards where this behaviour is defined? 2. Is there anything serious I'd be missing out on if I'm able to change it (apart from the obvious like cached pages not being updated etc.) Any help much appreciated. Yes, basically you want to do an "Export" from phpmyadmin (use the SQL format). Then if something went wrong you could always a new database and "import" the data to get back to the last good state. I've done this successfully from some of my cpanel managed sites. I have also had these periodically, mostly when I've been copying cloning or importing database sites. The cause is very loosley described as stale sessions. If you have mysql administrative access,consider executing the following query: DELETE FROM sessions This will remove all entries from the session table. The session table only contains information about people currently logged in or connected to drupal, so it may be safely deleted, especially during times of low activity. I don't know the root underlying cause but this should get your site back up and running. Without risking content. submenu does not stay expanded

I have set up a primary menu, and when you click on the first element, the menu opens fine If you click on any of the submenu items, the menu reverts to being closed when it goes to the next page. Example Developer (/developer) -- Resource (/resource) -- Compliace (/compliance) clicking on developer opens the submenu clicking on Resource or Compliace closes the menu back, but lans on the correct destination page The _administration_ menu maintains the open menu when you are on any of the nodes Is there a setup or naming convention that needs to be followed which allows for this behaviour to persist?
