Drupal 7/Postgres integration

Hello, I've installing Drupal 7 on a server with the database running on a remote server. When I try and go through the installation script I get the following message: Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[08006] [7] could not connect to server: Permission denied Is the server running on host "hubdb-dev" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?. interestingly, I can connect to the database server from the command-line on the same system: [root@hubweb-dev corp-site]# psql -U corp-site -h hubdb-dev corpsitedb Password for user corp-site: Welcome to psql 8.1.23, the PostgreSQL interactive terminal. Type: \copyright for distribution terms \h for help with SQL commands \? for help with psql commands \g or terminate with semicolon to execute query \q to quit corpsitedb=> Any ideas would be welcomed ... How to Set Meta Data for MP3

Hi, I'm using the 1 Pixel Out flash audio player that came with SWFtools. I'm using it on a Drupal 6 site. 1 Pixel Out will display the track title and performer alternatively while the audio is playing. Very cool. However, this only works when I create the metadata for the mp3 within Audacity. If I create the meta data using iTunes, it doesn't work. Any clues on why that is? For my client who I'll want to train on this, iTunes would be much more convenient than Audacity. Thanks, Shai

Workflow - Actions - Views integration

Hello all, I am looking for some advice on an issue i'm having involving Workflow, Actions and Views. I am working with a content type "project". A project can have many different states. I use the Workflow module to define those states, the transitions between them and the permissions based on user roles. A very concrete example of what i need to do is this: A user with the role "evaluator" needs to be able (preferably by simply clicking a button) *to take in a project for evaluation*, i.e. he/she needs to bring a project from the state "new" to the state "in evaluation". I kind of got to this with Workflow. Moreover, this state change needs to trigger an action that not only changes the state, but also remembers that that particular user took that project "in evaluation". In other words i need to set a user reference field to hold the state-updating user. This way i hope to be able to list the evaluator's projects "in evaluation" using relationships in Views filtering on the state-updating user (=project's evaluator) being the currently logged in user (correct me if i'm wrong). Unfortunately i don't seem to be able to create an action with the Actions module that sets the project's field "evaluator" to the state-updating user. Is it possible to program an action that does the above, and how? Or am i going about this the wrong way? Should i use Rules instead? Or can i use Rules in combination with Workflow? I'm puzzled. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Best, Toon

Problems With URL Path

Hi, I am facing a problem that we detected when we were analysing Google sitemaps reports. 1. We noticed that there are many pages indexed by Google with shows the path example.com/articles/123/test/example.com I don't how the trailing example.com is being added. Opening that link shows example.com/article page. It must show page not found error. Also if you add any string text to the uRL example.com/articles/123/test/i-am-idiot It still shows the page. Is it not the case that if you add any think to the URL it must shoe node not found error??? Please help. Site in question: kalkion.com Swapnil

getting ride of read more

this may be a newby question but how can I get ride of the "read more" in drupal. I have already set the Length of trimmed posts" to "unlimited" and still same result. see ocas.mywikipaper.org What can I do to get ride of that? I am using drupal 6.20 please help!!! this read more is driving me crazy!!!! How to duplicate a Drupal Setup.

Hi Lloyd, You can change the names of the web sites by changing the vhosts file and the hosts file. I always have to look this up to remember how to do it -- and there's posts on drupal.org that walk you through it. But there should be a vhosts file within your Apache files and a hosts file in your operating system files. If you upload your files into a database that you create in MySQL, you just need to change your settings file (sites/default/settings.php) with the proper MySQL settings and you'll probably want to change your base url settings in the same file. In general, for your purposes you can also just search for instructions on how to migrate a site, which is all you're doing w/ your backup. Hope that helps. -Mike

Hi There, I have inherited a Drupal 5 setup which our Organization uses on a daily basis. We have a machine hosted in the UK that supplies our website to all our visitors and sponsors. This website has been build on Drupal and I have recently upgraded it to Drupal 6.20. We are planning on revamping this website completely but cant afford to do this on the live site for obvious reasons so i have done the following : I have installed a Debian 6.0.1a machine with Apache2, PHP5 and mysql-server. I have tarred the /var/www folder and the /etc/apache folder and downloaded them to my local machine. I have backed up my database to a .sql file using phpmyadmin and downloaded that as well. Let me tell you what i have done so far : in the sites-availabe and sites-enables folders I have websites that look like this : www.x.org.za (path = /var/www/drupal/home/www.x.org.za) www.y.org.za (path = /var/www/drupal/home/www.y.org.za) I have logged into phpmyadmin and imported the database. I have untarred the download file into /var/www creating the paths specified above. Now, here are my questions : 1 . How do i change the names of the websites so i can browse them as http://localhost/x etc....... ? 2 . How do i make sure that Drupal is using the data I imported in the step above - Was I supposed to import the data into the database i pointed Drupal to or does the website have seperate database references?
