Not Usernames, but Nicks

Hi folks, I'm just getting my feet wet here, and want to change the "Who's new" list from showing Usernames to just showing Nicknames, which is a new field I created. I'm on D7. Thanks, GDR

I'm a newbie trying to implement quotes and am getting stuff like the below when trying to update the site. Anyone able to enlighten me? Or steer me to docs? everything is up to date as far as I know. Need to change user login

Using latest Drupal 7 fully updated. I need to change the user login system.. Change the title of the Username to 'Question 1' and the Password title to 'Question 2' Is there a way to do this please. Also, user names and passwords will be based on a series of questions and answers. Is there a way I can get ddslideshow or views-slideshow to randomly read one one line at a time from a text file rather than create a content type and a lot of entries in the content system. Drupal 6 - strange menu related issue

Hi, I've been trying to solve this problem for over a week now. I have a Drupal 6.19 company website, with 11 languages and over 1400 total links in the menu_links table. Whenever I try to add a link to primary links, Drupal starts to behave strangely: I cannot edit or add any nodes, with an error message "username admin does not exist" - But I have the admin user and I can login with it. If I then delete a menu item from primary links, everithing is back to normal. It seems somehow a limitation. Here's what I already did: * Rebuilt permissions, deleted cache, forced rebuild of navigation links * Checked menu_links table throughly, searching for ivalid items * Deleted some orphan menu items that had no parents * Corrected some menu items that were internal but somehow were flagged external in DB * Made a local copy of the site: the issue is the same * Updated Drupal 6.19 to 6.26 * Updated all modules to their latest version * Tried to disable ALL modules except menu module: issue persists until I disable menu module too * Checked that all items in menu_links appear in Drupal UI * Increased PHP memory limit from 128MB to 256MB None of the above solved the problem. This issue only occurs with primary links. I can add menu items to secondary links without triggering this problem. I searched the web for a solution, but all I can find was a similar problem with no answers. I posted this question in the Drupal forum, Stackexchange and Stackoverflow but nobody could solve this problem. If there's anyone who can really help me with this, I'm gonna put him on a pedestal and worship his name... Thanks in advance for any clues, Balazs

Trying to not hack core.

Looking for some advice. My Drupal background is quite limited, but I'll do my best to use the correct terminology. Basically we have a view that is used to search for organizations based on the country. So when I go to the view for the search page and click on the configure filter criterion, I see a series of check boxes associated with the field_address:county field that is a long list of countries. The values for the countries appears to come from the file: includes/iso.inc What I'm trying to do is change some of the names, plus add one or two countries. The reason for this is this search is based on where our organization works. For example we have a separate organization in Northern Ireland. Of course this is not listed in the ISO.inc file. I was not able to figure out how the ISO.inc values are tied to the field_address_country, but they are. My first instinct was to, heck, just modify the ISO.inc file. But then I was told that was bad because that is like hacking core. After some Google searching I found I could add to a function Hook to an existing custom module that deals with forms (written by 3rd party) with a hook for countries alter. function myCustomMod_countries_alter(&$countries) { $countries['IE'] = 'Republic of Ireland-xx'; $countries['GB'] = 'Great Britain'; $countries['RU'] = 'Russian Federation'; $countries['CI'] = 'Cote d\' lvoire'; $countries['BA'] = 'Bosnia Herzegovina'; $countries['NN'] = 'Northern Ireland'; } Now when I go to the view, this has no effect on the list of countries, but when I go to the search page that uses this view with exposed criteria and form, I can see that the countries that exist in the iso file (e.g. Republic of Ireland with an -xx) are modified with my changes from the countries_alter hook, but the countries that do not exist in the iso file are not added (e.g. Northern Ireland). I am guessing at the time the exposed search drop down list is built, it has my changes in it (altered and added) but that it checks against the values that are checked in the view and if it's not check in the view, it won't get added to the list. So looking for advice as to what direction I should head. 1.) Hack the ISO.inc file. 2.) learn how to attach another .inc file to the field_address:country 3.) another hook or code in the hook alter that will work when the form is rendered. Pat.

Is it possible to attach an existing file to a newly created node - ??

Dear All I have spent quite a lot of time to attach an existing file at server side to a newly created node. I googled quite a bit, almost everywhere the examples are there for file uplaod / save and then attach to a node. Did not get any documentation thats says how to attach an existing file to a newly created node . At a high level, my code is as below. $node = new stdClass(); $node->type = resume' ; // a new content type created node_object_prepare($node); $node->title = My title'; $node->language = 'en'; $node->uid = 1; $file_obj = file_load($fid); $node->field_resume[$node->language][0] = (array)$file_obj; //field_resume is the machine name for file field node_save($node); Can somebody please let me know what I am missing here? The new node is created, with no attachment. How can I get the file to attached to node. Regards kamal

Responsive images

I am testing out the responsive images and styles module and want to ask about its popularity. If you have used it have you gotten good, expected results. http://drupal.org/project/resp_img I haven't but then maybe I am not setting it up correctly. I find it behaves awkwardly and at the _wide media size doesn't show the images in my slideshow at all. Installing Drupal 7 on AIX 6.1

Hi, I'm on a new project. Starting from scratch -- host machine is AIX 6.1. I've already installed Apache 2.4, PHP 5.4.7, MySQL 5.5.10 -- from RPMs (not compiled from source). I've verified that PHP works with Apache (phpinfo()) prints the correct info. When I run the Drupal install.php, Apache gets the following error "child pid 2215938 exit signal Segmentation fault". How can I determine what's wrong? Can anyone help??? Ken

site not sending emails

I set up a site on my staging server, used both my email address and the customer's to test the commerce module order emails and everything worked just great. Even though the staging server was xyz.com I could get those emails at me(a)abc.com and customer(a)def.com. When I moved the site over to their IIS server (with apache, php, MySQL installed), I can't get the emails from customer's site def.com to go to any email address at def.com. I can, however, get those emails to come to my email at abc.com Their sys admin's reply is: "Well the first thing that comes to mind is how the smtp server is configured for the commerce_kickstart module. I can't easily get at that. If its set to a @def.com address then it might try to send like emails locally and they would fail." Is this a site config, Commerce config or server config I need to be looking for? Thanks! -- Cindy Dykstra
